No matter what happens this season we need to re-think the winter break

Thats 2 seasons in a row we have returned from the winter break and we have been terrible and blown a great position we managed to get ourselves in before the break.

im not sure what the solution is but what we have done the last few seasons obviously isn't working, maybe we should just stay at home

We beat Hearts in November 2018 to go top and lost the next game at home to Aberdeen.

We beat the filth at the end of December 2018 to go joint top and lost the next game away to Kilmarnock.

We beat Hamilton in October 2019 to go top and drew the next game away to Hearts.

We beat the filth in December 2019 to give ourselves the chance to go top with our game in hand and shipped 5 points immediately after it.

The above is the only 4 times under Gerrard’s tenure where we have had them under real pressure and we’ve fûcked it almost instantly every time.

I don’t think the winter break is the issue. Winning games of football from a position of strength is the issue for this team.

Our team seem to be in their comfort zone when playing second fiddle and chasing. Being leader of the pack seems to be too much for them.

Depressing.

Right now as much as I hate to say it, it’s hard to argue with that. We get excited and then almost immediately flattened.

Cant argue with that either

Need to make the winter break about giving the first team competitive games to keep them at the same level. Not about giving reserves a little game time around the other side of the world.

Its all about continuity and as much as the players do need a rest there is more of an argument to have a longer spell off in the Summer too where many people go on holiday and spend more time with their kids and grandkids.
