Non Rangers Related Transfers - Summer 2025

Some of today's gossip:

Arsenal have agreed a fee of about £59m with Real Sociedad for Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, 26, with the move to be completed after 1 July to help with meeting Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

Manchester United are evaluating an offer for Napoli's Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, 26, using Netherlands forward Joshua Zirkzee, 24, as part of the deal.

Al-Hilal's bid to sign France midfielder N'Golo Kante, 34, on a short-term deal from Saudi rivals Al-Ittihad for the Club World Cup could collapse because of a fan backlash.

Hearts are closing in on a deal to sign Oxford United and former Kilmarnock defender Stuart Findlay. The Tynecastle club are also progressing with a deal to sign Aalesund FK's Portuguese forward Claudio Bravo.

There being a fan backlash in Saudi seems mental, passionate bunch no doubt but surely whatever the chief oil gangster decides will go, they'd be mad not to cobble together and all stars team and showcase the best of Saudi

Liverpool really putting the foot down to win the league next year. Lost TAA. Brought in frimpong, wirtz all but confirmed, kerkez rumoured to be close as well. Looks like they might be getting big money from Saudi for Nunez as well to basically fund a striker being brought in as well.

There was a piece last week about how obsessed both Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness were with signing Wirtz. "The best German player for a new era." It was treated as a strategic move at corporate level, similar to the hiring of Pep Guardiola or constructing the Allianz Arena. Not managing to get the deal over the line will sting in Bavaria for a while.

I'm actually glad he went to the EPL. Plus it's good to see Bayern miss out on a domestic target for once.

I was in Germany for the euros and was talking to a german lad in the pub one night and he was saying he thinks Wirtz is the best German player for a generation. Be interested to see how he does this year as I have kept an eye on him since that conversation.

What’s the story with Forest, Lyon & Crystal Palace?

Same guy (Textor) owns Lyon & Palace. Though in the past few days you’ve had reports of Forest reporting Palace to UEFA, reports of Textor trying to get Cherki signing for Forest instead of Man City & you’ve got Botofogo who are also owned by Textor selling three players to Forest for £30m.

Hopefully it is a sell on based on profit, cannot see Roma paying in excess of what Brighton paid. They will get stung the same way we did with Bassey leaving Ajax
Looks like he has fell out with the Brighton coach. Seen some quotes about him saying he is being played out of position and he doesn’t want that. Also, he said about dealing with off field problems too.

Over here, you're either a Musiala or Wirtz guy. A lot of the older generation tend to fall into the latter camp.

He actually made his comeback from his cruciate injury at Ibrox in the friendly a few years ago. That was a big deal at the time even if the game itself wasn't.

Yeah, Balikwisha is a handy player. They've been after him for a while.
Missed 29 games last season, 205 days out, due to 3 different muscle injuries and has missed at the very least 10 matches per season in each of the last 4. Can you just imagine the absolute carnage in the transfer thread if we were after this player? Might be handy when fit but looks like he'd give Roofe a run for his money.

Still think Liverpool need a 9.

I’d have gone all out for Isak but gets that’s unaffordable with Wirtz.

He might do ok here though when any sign of physical competitiveness is reffed out of the opposition to the point it's a near non-contact sport.

Guardiola and Man City seem to be pretty good at getting players for reasonable prices. They generally don't over pay for players.

Compare that to Man Utd who overpay for almost every player.

I think bad habits in the transfer market tend to cause repeat to fade tendencies.

The same can be said about us and Celt!c where they buy well and sell even better. We overpay and sell poorly.

Both Man Utd and ourselves have had poor stewardship for years while Manchester City and Celt!c have had stability in those positions.

For us at least it’s changed now, maybe not so much Man Utd.

exaggerated
they buy some well & sell on for a big profit
this covers the absolute dross they sign - Nawrocki, Lagerbieke, Palma etc etc

outwith the big sales they've spent millions on utter shite over the last 10 years+, many jettisoned with no fee
we've not done that enough hence every flop is a disaster for us

Man City spending 375mill since January I'm assuming the charges has expected will come to nothing!!!

This just seems bizarre to me. He can't have developed at all since leaving us for Bayern. If you'd said to me after he left us that he would be making a move like this at his age I'd wonder what the hell could have gone wrong for him. He was devastating at times for City. Inconsistent maybe but still young as well.

Really weird to me, this.
I don't think he ever reached the levels that some thought he was capable of looked a brilliant talent at one stage and just seems to have tailed off a bit over the years.

Chasing the cash in Turkey at his age says it all.

Man U Buying Zirkzee was a totally baffling decision.

Some of today's chatter.
