Another mental rule change!
I don't see the reasoning in letting play carry on for 5/10 seconds when its just going to be brought back after it fizzles out.It makes perfect sense with VAR.
Until someone gets injured. Buff essentially had a 50/50 with their goalkeeper tonight when he was offside. It’s silly. It makes perfect sense with VAR.

Seems like a waste of time.
Serves no purpose and wastes everyone's time.

The flag is still to be raised when it is an obvious offside though. It makes perfect sense with VAR.
The flag only when straight up with Giroud as the ball went straight into the net so no need to play on.Someone is going to get injured.
I dont understand it. The black guy was 3 yards offside. No flag.
Giroud on Tuesday the flag was straight up yet he was onside.
No consistency
Encourages players to play to the whistle, it may work in our favour.
I’ve seen it work where whole teams (and the linesman) think an attacker is offside, he puts the ball in the net but VAR give it.
I understand the injury concerns etc though.
Not if some chunt wipes you out and breaks your leg when defending a clear offside passage of play.It makes perfect sense with VAR.
With VAR in play all it shows is how bad the linesman is. They are supposed to keep their flag down only when a situation is too close to call. The decisions we saw tonight where yards offside, flag should have been up immediately.Another mental rule change!
What would happen if a red card decision had to be made would that be overruled as well.Until someone gets injured. Buff essentially had a 50/50 with their goalkeeper tonight when he was offside. It’s silly.
It's a sham. Its changing the game to suit var. I wish they'd get var to f**k but they won't as it will come in handy for fitting an ad or 2 whilst everybody sits about waiting to celebrate or not.Someone is going to get injured.

Agreed, it’s a mystery to me why the football authorities seem intent on consistently complicating what’s a simple game.Farcical, waste of time to let play continue, players could get injured, makes no sense...unless you are the governing body
Exact this, it’s going to happen that a player will get injured when the game should have been stopped, it’s a pathetic rule, particularly when it’s as obvious as tonight.Agreed, the one when the guy ended up 1-1 with McGregor is a joke. If he thinks he needs to stop him he might injure himself and it's not even a chance.
Yes, I believe it would. What would happen if a red card decision had to be made would that be overruled as well.
Plus the fact I nearly had a heart attack when I seen the player in so much space in front of goal!Agreed, the one when the guy ended up 1-1 with McGregor is a joke. If he thinks he needs to stop him he might injure himself and it's not even a chance.
If marginal you’re right but if it’s 10 yards off just blow.It makes perfect sense with VAR.
