Okeydokey505 - another Bear gone.

RIP Andy.

One of my abiding memories of him was the day we were going to the piggery and he tried to guide the bus driver. He was convinced he was correct. 5mins later the bus was getting pelted with everything under the sun as he took us up the London Road. A police escort later we were guided to safety.

That’s no age at all. I’m almost as old as that and my wife and I are just starting to plan things we’ll do together after we retire from a lifetime of work. Always horrible to hear about others who don’t then get those opportunities after so many years together and looking forward to some well earned rest and spending more time together and with the family.

Very sad news indeed. Thoughts very much with Andy’s wife, daughter and close friends at this saddest of times.

Rest easy, fellow bear

A very sad few weeks for the FF family.

Always enjoyed reading his posts, thoughts are with all his family & friends at this time.

Sleep tight Andy.

Hi firstly thanks for liking my post,on another sad loss to the Rangers family,I sadly lost my brother Stephen on the 9th March,we were both Rangers followers since our dad Vinnie took us both when were very young,I was 8in 1960when I first saw the famous eleven and Ibrox,I was totally overwhelmed by the messages and support on here from many bears, when I posted of my brothers parting, but in between this new loss ,I read of your anguish senoracuellar, honestly I fell apart,I could not even see my screen,so it gives me the opportunity to say sorry for your sad loss,I know and you know no words how much they are meant in kindnesses and heartfelt sympathy can overcome that hollow feeling of emptiness we feel when losing someone we love,so I'm putting my arms around from here in Dumfries and giving you the biggest hug I can xx hope none of my words offend you or hurt you in anyway yours aye Carlos

Thank you. X

Pm'd you.

A popular poster on this site, Okeydokey505 - Andy Strawhorn from Kilmarnock - lost his battle with cancer and passed away on Wednesday.
A lifelong bluenose and season ticket holder in the Sandy Jardine Rear, he played with the Rangers Boys Club in the early 70's. Andy was a regular in the Bellahouston Bowling Club prior to the games. The 505 in his username was a reference to his masonic lodge. The mark of the man can be seen in his last few posts when he was offering his thoughts and sympathy to SenoraCuellar even as his own life was ebbing away. Andy was just 60 years old and leaves a wife and two daughters. His funeral service is next Friday at 10.45am in St Andrew's & St Marnock's Parish Church and then on to Riccarton Cemetry.
Rest easy Andy, a special glass will be raised in your memory when we get our title back.

RIP Andy so sorry to hear this.

Sad news. A well known poster in here.

A man who loved our club and is now one of a growing band who we will remember when we celebrate title 55 and wish they were here to share the joy with us.
Sadly an band that is growing too large by the day.

Sleep well fella. My heartfelt condolences to your family and all those who know you.

Very sad news

Touched by him and his attitude on some other threads when he was selflessly giving advice and support especially with his own condition.

He was a great contributor to threads and will be sadly missed.

Rest In Peace Andy

This is sad news.

Andy sorted me and my mates out a few times with tickets for the Rangers end down here at Palmerston when we were in the championship.A true bluenose and a gentleman.

RIP Okeydokey.

That result was for you today Andy

Anyone who wants to go to Andy's funeral next Friday, I'll be driving down from Glasgow if anyone needs a lift

I wasn't aware he was ill but I’ve noticed his posts here.

Rest easy Ranger. All too early.

I used to sit beside Andy in the govan for a couple of seasons. Cracking guy, gutted to hear this. RIP

Hi Everyone,

This is Andy's daughter, Suzanne. Myself, my mum and sister Heather, just wanted to say Thank you all for your kind words. We never realised just how much my dad was liked and the posts you have all shared are testament to that.

I am not very good at this whole forum thing, Andy was the forum expert in this household, but we have saw a few mentions on SenoraCuellar's post which my dad had commented on and wonder if anyone could link us to it?

Thanks
Suzanne

Your Dad was a great laugh on this forum and held his own with all, we will all miss his dry wit advice and comments.

I hope you and the family can smile and think about all his daft days when he had you all in stitches as it’s better to smile at all your memories than be sad.

Just seen this news. Ive picked up tickets from Andy for a few Rangers games in the past and he was a great guy to chat all things Rangers with.

I hope he is at peace now, RIP Andy.

Met Andy loads over the years.

That is another sore one for the Lodge as he is the third brother to pass in the last few weeks.

RIP Andy from all at 149

Hope you don't mind me posting Suzanne1872. The front and back of the order of service at Andy's funeral. A lovely tribute.
