1879 - Vale of Leven turned up at First Hampden Park for the Scottish Cup final replay with Rangers, sadly, there was no sign of Rangers, for all the players were enjoying a day out at Ayr Racecourse and thus fulfilling their threat not to appear for the replay as they claimed to have had a perfectly good goal ruled out in the first meeting.Vale of Leven were therefore awarded the trophy by default.

2007 - Evidence of a conveyor belt of talent beginning to emerge from Auchenhowie was thrust under the spotlight as Rangers trounced Celtic 5-0 in the Scottish Youth Cup final at Hampden Park. Andrew Shinnie got Rangers off to a flying start with the opener in four minutes before Steven Lennon grabbed a hat-trick and skipper Dean Furman rounded off the scoring. It was an emphatic win for the young men in blue and a result that Celtic coach John McLaughlin described as 'embarrassing'.
2014 - Rangers 3 (Aird, Peralta,Shiels) Stranraer 0 - Scottish League One (46,093)
2016 - Livingston 1 Rangers 0 - Scottish Championship (5,021)

2007 - How many of those players went on to have decent careers in the game? Shinnie did well. Fleck did well. Always thought Furman should have been given a chance with us.

1975 this was our last game of the season after finally winning the league after the mentally challengeds 9 in a row.. like a great deal of our gala days things went flat on the park ,,we lost in front of a sell out Ibrox crowd,, but the title was back at Ibrox and so a good summer could be had,,roll on season 1975-76 got a feeling that will be even better

Correct. I watched Furman play at Peterhead a few years later in pre season, he was the stand out player that evening

was a very pleasant Wednesday night, putting the mentally challengeds to the sword at any age group is always a great feeling

The following played for the first team (varying appearances and time): Scott Gallacher, Ross Perry, Andrew Shinnie, Dean Furman, Jordan McMillan, Jamie Ness, John Fleck, Steven Lennon, Andrew Little.

Ness seems to be having quite a good season with Plymouth this year.

Perry was horrendous in the first team. Now at Brechin, I see. Incredible drop. Ness looked a class act in the first team. Shame about his injuries and that he didn't stay. I understood why the likes of Davis didn't fancy dropping to the Third Division but it was a great opportunity for the likes of Ness and Fleck. They didn't see it that way.

The board knew how to entertain us in these days!

1975 - the game itself was flat but the important thing was that we would pick up the League Championship trophy at the end of it. My abiding memory from that day is of the bus journey to the game on the Bridgeton Cross Loyal. The bus had been waiting in a traffic queue for about 10 minutes to turn off the Govan Road when I noticed that the driver had a rather large flagon of cider on his left arm and was taking quite a swig from it. My interest in this spectacle heightened considerably, however, when the bus started to move forward and turn a corner with its driver still quaffing from the said flagon of cider with his remaining hand on the steering wheel. It's not something that you see too often these days,

There was some amount of battling with bottles flying overhead and cans of pish spraying everywhere while flying past.
