1889 - Rangers 0 Celtic 2 - Rangers & Clydesdale Harriers Sports Cup Final (4,000)
One member of the near 4000 crowd was indentified as being a scout for English club Notts County, who were known to be interested in Rangers' John Hendry.Unfortunately for the scout, his indentity became known to some within the crowd who did not want Hendry to leave Ibrox and they set about the man, beating him rather severly !

we actually played well this game

2016 - alarm bells start ringing, a disappointing start to a long awaited game.

And the last time we were given what you would consider a fairly easy opening game in the league.

Since then its been Motherwell away, Aberdeen away, Kilmarnock away then Aberdeen away again. All tough places to go. We never seen to get St Johnstone or Ross County.

1971 - 58,000 in torrential rain.

1978 - Bobby Russell smashed the ball at Gerry O’Brien (rhabid from Barmulloch)

1980 - squandered a 2-0 lead. McAdam running to Auld either v-sign when he netted

Steven in that 89 match strolled it; brilliant player. Ian Ferguson was brilliant in that game as well.

This game was exactly one week after England won the World Cup.

some results from that same day
Rangers 2-0 Arsenal
Hibernian 3-2 Nottingham Forest
Aberdeen 2-1 Man City
Celtic 4-1 Man Utd
St Johnstone 5-2 Ipswich

You are a real wealth of knowledge bud, I really enjoy all your posts.

1983 Belgium. Sandy Clark hat trick, hard to believe. Bears fans drank the nearby Sports Bar dry afterwards.

1973 - we had just signed Ally Scott from Queens Park and my older brother and I went down to Rugby Park to see what he was like. We were not impressed.

Having failed to win a Title in the previous 9 seasons, with Millar, Brand, Forrest, McLean, Stein, D.Johnstone and Parlane, the promise of Ally Scott was a little underwhelming to say the least!

1989 v Spurs is probably the best friendly match I’ve ever attended, Spurs had a decent side but so did we right enough.
Great day it was
