On This Day (December 2nd)

2018 - Hearts 1 Rangers 2 (Goldson, Morelos) - Scottish Premiership (19,429)
Rangers moved to the top of the Scottish Premiership for the first time under Steven Gerrard after this comeback victory over Hearts. Arfield was red carded in the 72nd minute for a rash challenge on the Hearts keeper, but Rangers held out to secure the win.

Great feeling of optimism going top that day. Didn't last long!

1972 . We went on a fantastic long winning streak after this game which lasted until the penultimate game of the league campaign (2-2) draw at Pittodrie.

We actually drew 0-0 with Aberdeen at Ibrox two weeks after that Hearts defeat, in a game where we were denied a stonewall penalty, and Alfie Conn hit the post late on, when it looked easier to score.
We won all other 18 League games that season, and of course the Scottish Cup.
We lost the League by 1 point.

1967 - Rangers 2 (Johnston, Ferguson) Airdrieonians 1 - Scottish League Division One (35,000)

Alex Ferguson scores the winner, as Rangers continue with their 100% win record in Davie White's 5th League match, to keep Rangers top of the League, 4 points above Celtic who had played one game less.
The next 4 games would see an exciting attacking Rangers bang in 23 Goals.
