1890 - Everton 8 Rangers 1 (Untraced) - Friendly (Played At Anfield)
1896 - Rangers 2 (A.Smith,H.McCreadie) Hibernian 3 - Scottish Cup Quarter-Final (18,000)
Goalkeeper John Bell blamed himself for this cup defeat by Hibernian, so much so that after the game he changed without speaking to anyone and walked out of the ground, never to return. In truth it was Rangers' inefficiencies up front that were as much to blame, for they missed two penalties during the match.
