1873 - Neilly Gibson born in Larkhall. After playing for Larkhall Thistle and Royal Albert,he signed for Rangers in 1894 and was a first team regular for ten years before leaving to join Partick Thistle in 1904. By this time he had helped Rangers to win four League titles and two Scottish Cups as well as a plethora of medals and awards from the local Glasgow football scene and 16 Scottish caps

I'm sure all three of Neilly Gibson's sons played professional football, and one, Jimmy (his old man referred to him as Jamie) gave us the following;

A - When he moved to Aston Villa (I think) it was the world transfer fee at the time

and

B - He was a 'Wembley Wizard.'
