The game effectively turned on the decision of the Rangers captain Robert campbell to kick against a gale-force wind in the first half after he had won the toss.Although Billy Hogg gave Rangers the lead,Hamilton and lee put Dundee ahead before the break and Rangers were unable to force an equaliser in the second half

On the same day Davie Cooper was born in Hamilton. After making his name with Clydebank Davie joined Rangers in 1977 and, despite a rather retiring nature, soon became established as not only a favourite with the Ibrox crowd but also those who followed the international side, with Davie winning 22 caps for Scotland. After a successful Rangers career of some 12 years,Davie was transferred to Motherwell ,but rather than signal the winding down of his career, the move served to only galvanise him to new heights. He helped Motherwell win the Scottish Cup in 1991 and returned to the international side.He returned to first club Clydebank in 1993 and seemed assured a successful career in coaching until his untimely death in 1995 from as massive brain haemorrage

1990 A horrible game.

That was the game where Billy McNeill shat himself live on telly, when Terry Butcher almost battered a door down behind him as he was being interviewed.

John Brown volleyed Tommy Coyne right back into the goal after he scored their winner

Pretty sure the St Mirren game in 1989 was Ally's return after 3 months out with a torn hamstring.

1996 - We were down to the bare bones striker wise - Durie out with a hernia, Ally injured I think and Ian Ferguson playing as a front man. We signed Bo Andersen the following midweek.
