1928 - Montreal 1 Rangers 5 (Cunningham 2,Marshall 2,McPhail) - Friendly
1972 - Rangers were banned from European competition for two years as a result of the scenes at the European Cup-Winners Cup final in Barcelona the previous month. They were however, allowed to play Ajax in the European Super Cup. Willie Waddell immediately announced that the club would appeal against the ban.
2004 - Rangers TV was launched by chief executive Martin Bain, who unveiled a partnership with Irish broadcaster Setanta that would see the club's own programmes broadcast each weekday night.
2006 - Barry Ferguson became an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours list, following in the footsteps of John Greig,Ally McCoist and Walter Smith. Ferguson who was captain of Scotland at the time, was recognised for his services to club and country as well as his commitment to charity.
