1941 - Hamilton Accies 1 Rangers 3 (Gillick 2,Duncanson) - Summer Cup Quarter Final 1st Leg (8,000)
Rangers made relatively light work in winning 3-1 at Hamilton in the first leg of the quarter final of the inaugural Summer Cup,thanks to goals from Torry Gillick (two) and Jimmy Duncanson.
2000 - Rangers agreed a fee with Hibs for promising young striker Kenny Miller, with an initial outlay of £1,5m reported, a possible £500,000 to be added depending on his success at Ibrox. Miller was just 20 at the time and jumped at the chance to switch to Glasgow.

2000

A full 18 years later you just wouldn't expect to be shelling out that kind of money on a young SPL player any more.

Changed days really, English market through the roof and the Scottish market through the floor.
