1940 - Falkirk 0 Rangers 0 - Scottish Emergency War Cup 2nd Round (16,000)
Whilst the first round in the Scottish Emergency War Cup had been decided over two legs, the competition now reverted to a straight knockout affair, although Rangers would require a second match against Falkirk following their 0-0 draw at Brockville. Already the crowd restrictions which had been put in place at the outbreak of the Second World War were beginning to be relaxed, with 16,000 being present at this match

1960 - Sparta Rotterdam 2 Rangers 3 (Wilson, Baird, Murray) - European Champions' Cup Quarter-Final 1st Leg (50,000)
The resumption of European football following the traditional winter break saw Rangers give one of their finest performances away from home, winning 3-2 in Rotterdam thanks to goals from Davie Wilson, Sammy Baird and Max Murray ,totally stunning the 50,000 crowd
1963 - Dunfermline Athletic 1 Rangers 2 (Wilson, Millar) - Scottish League Division One (22,500)

1974 - Manchester United 2 Rangers 3 (Greig, Johnstone, Parlane Pen) - Friendly (22,215)
Whilst a friendly match between Manchester United and Rangers, respectively the most popular clubs in England and Scotland, would usually be expected to produce a sell-out crowd, both United and Rangers were in something of a transition. United were to end the season by being relegated into the Second Division for the first time since 1937,and Rangers were to finish their campaign empty-handed. Thus only 22,215 were at Old Trafford, where John Greig, Derek Johnstone and Derek Parlane from the penalty spot gave Rangers the win

1996 Gazza and Ally got a bit friendly.
2008 Walter and Mixu got a bit unfriendly! Novo got sent off and missed the League Cup final.
2013 and 2014 perfectly shows the distance we have gone to be where we now are.

I was at hospitality for the Annan game in 2013. I genuinely did not want to go back out for the second half such was the quality of the first half performance.

Likewise. Had ST but mate won a hospitality day so went with him. Painful doesn’t come close

2013 - remember looking up at the the scoreboard as I made my way up the Copland front stairs. Truly awful looking but a timely reminder on the week we become champions how bad it once was.

1927 - Rangers 0 Falkirk 1 - Scottish Cup Quarter-Final Replay (80,000)
The Rangers Scottish Cup hoodoo continues, as Rangers lose 0-1 at Ibrox in this replay.
I reckon the attendance of 80,000 might well have been a record for a midweek game at Ibrox

Still bitter that the Caley Thistle game was switched to Tannadice. Had it been played in Inverness we would almost certainly have gone.

1935 - Motherwell 1 Rangers 4 (Smith 4) - Scottish Cup Quarter-Final (29,777)
Arguably our greatest goalscorer ever, Jimmy Smith takes his tally to 38 Goals in just 29 games thus far into the season.
Rangers would go on to collect their 8th Championship in 9 seasons, and collect the Double of League and Scottish Cup in successive seasons.
Those two seasons (1933-1935) would see big Jimmy register 91 Goals in 78 games in the two competitions.

1996 met gazza outside and got his autograph when bears stopped him in his jeep.

I was a happy boy that night
