What was ultimately to prove one of the most crucial ties in the run to the final began well enough for Rangers, who powered into a three goal lead before the half hour was up,thanks to Colin Stein (two) and Willie Henderson. Then they took their foot off the pedal and allowed the Portuguese back into the game, conceding two late goals that seemed to give little room for error in the second leg. That was to prove just as dramatic.

Playing in the No. 8 jersey and scoring Rangers only goal, they would go on and win the League for the first time in 5 years in 1918

I took the family to the Argyle House hospitality suite that day and met my boyhood hero Willie Henderson and Alex McDonald, it was a great day.

This was the original Glasgow "Derby"

That was against Seville the previous year.

This game was the one Foster missed an open goal with a few minutes left. We played really well and a win would have gave us 7 from 9 and a great chance to qualify.

2007 should have been 4 nil. Got a goal wrongly ruled out for offside late on. Would have taken us top on goal difference too IIRC
