James Marshall scored five of Rangers' goals at Cappielow Park as they strode to their biggest win of a championship winning season. The previous campaign had seen them slip to sixth place in the table, but with Marshall firing in 20 goals during the season and Fleming and Morton also getting into double figures, the title was on its way back to Ibrox

Rangers retained the League Cup for the third consecutive season, the first time in their history they had accomplished this feat. The opponents were the same as the previous year and the match just as entertaining, with a last minute goal from Ally McCoist ensuring the victory.
2007 - Rangers 0 Barcelona 0 - European Champions League Group E (49,957)
Rangers produced a terrific, disciplined performance to earn a valuable Champions League point against a rather wastful Barcelona at Ibrox. Ronaldinho hit the crossbar, Messi had a shot cleared off the line and Henry headed over as the visitors threatened throughout. But the longer the game went on, the more belief Rangers seemed to muster. Daniel Cousin missed the best chance with ten minutes left as he lashed his first-time shot over the bar from inside the box.

2016 - Rangers 0 Celtic 1 - Scottish League Cup Semi-final (Played at Hampden Park) (50,967)

1920
Match summary printed in The Scotsman on the following Monday.

A thrilling game was witnessed at Celtic Park, Glasgow, where the Rangers triumphed over Celtic by two goals to one. The game all through was vigorously contested, but most of the excitement was crowded into the last twenty minutes, when the Rangers got their two goals. It was a very even first half, and the Celts crossed over leading by a goal scored by Cassidy. Just after the resumption McInally was injured, and went to outside left, but he was of little use before Cairns equalised. Ten minutes from the finish McQueen, the Rangers' left back, fell heavily on his shoulder, sustaining a fracture collar bone, and had to be assited to the pavilion. Immediately after Morton scored the winning goal for the Rangers with a terrific drive from thirty yards out. The feature of the game was the brilliant play of Archibald, who had most to do with the Celtic's defeat. Attendance, 70,000.

1986

Can't remember why, but I think that game was on a Thursday night. Just like it would be now, but unusual then.

1965 - thuggish, cynical game plan from “master tactician” Large John. Their full backs, Young and Gemmell, kicked %^*& out of Henderson and Johnston who had destroyed Sellik at Ibrox earlier in the season. An indulgent referee John Phillips saw nothing amiss.

1971 - Sellik’s capitulation in League Cup Final to Partick Thistle?

Were both the Celtic goals penalties?

2007 incredible atmosphere that night.

The roof would have come off had that Cousin shot went in!

One was a needless hand ball by Ronnie McKinnon.
I was in the old North Stand that day. Jim Forrest missed two absolute certainties early on when he was clean through on both occasions against Simpson. McKinnon's hand ball was a complete aberration. The ball was above his head and he seemed to raise his hand to deliberately strike it.

1986-The game was played on a Thursday night, which was unusual at the time.We won the Skol Cup On the following Sunday :)

1986 - we saw a Terry Butcher special of a tackle, man, ball, the fucking lot and perfectly legal. Heard the Boavista player scream and their manager went tonto. It would be red in today's hunk game.

2007 - Papac. What a hero he was that night.

2011 - Jelavic's goal was just sublime.

Got absolutely no recollection of 2016. Suppose given the era a 1 nil defeat wasnt too bad
Gilks in goal, we hardly threatened all game but kept them out till Dembele scored in the last few minutes.

1971- the atmosphere in the stadium was lifted by the news from hampden and the Gers ran out convincing winners in thsecond half

That game at home to Boavista was my first Rangers match. My dad took me and we sat in the brown section (closer to the Copland Road stand if I remember correctly) of the Govan rear.

The other penalty was a Davie Provan tackle on the wee alky.
