1877 - Rangers 8 (P.Campbell 3,M.McNeil 3,Dunlop,J.Campbell) Alexandra Athletic 0 - Scottish Cup 2nd Round (1,500)
1883 - Dumbarton 2 Rangers 0 - Friendly (5,000)
Tom Vallance, who had left Rangers in February 1882 for India, had returned to the club less than a year later, but was too ill to resume his playing career and instead took a role on the committee. He subsequently rose to become club president, something of a steadying influence on a club in some turmoil. He resigned from that position because of events surrounding this match; Dumbarton had asked that he officiate the friendly as umpire, but his own Rangers players had objected on the grounds that he was too honest for his own good.
1888 - Rangers 1 (Wilson) Celtic 6 - Glasgow Cup Quarter-Final (4,000)

After the game Rangers discovered that Thistle's goalkeeper Smith had played for another club whilst still registered with Thistle and lodged an appeal to the SFA.The appeal was upheld and a replay was ordered for November 10th,which Rangers duly won 5-3.

He was capped for Scotland 53 times,48 of which were as captain, and later spent three years as manager of Third Lanark.Although rightfully feared for his tackling,he was never sent off or booked during his career. He died in January 1997

1962 - must have been a huge travelling Rangers support/local interest as Aberdeen’s next highest home crowd was only 15,000.

2002 we were brilliant that day. De Boer scored a wonderful goal.
2004 Came back from a goal down then a double celebration when we found out Aberd scored a last minute winner at Parkhead. Think we went top of the table for first time in a while.
2009 Did Griffiths score for Dundee?

2004 - Dunfermline Athletic 1 Rangers 2 (Boumsong, Novo Pen) - Scottish Premier League (8,763)
glorious and funny night with the Greenock loyal

2002- that De Boer goal was absolute quality

I don’t think we did go top of the league I’m sure it was towards the end of November before we managed that eg 2004
John Stewart scored for Aberdeen he must have been young and looked like steptoe

I think you're right, we went top a Sunday game we beat Hearts.

1976 - a sore one.
I was there that night & for some reason (probably booze) me and my mate got in late & didn't realize we were already 0-1 down. Aberdeen then score followed by Doddie's goal so we are thinking it's 1-1. We left thinking we got humped 4-1 and didn't know the real score until the next day, probably when we sobered up!

1934 - Queen of the South 2 Rangers 3 (Gillick 2,Venters) - Scottish League Division One (12,100)
1945 - Morton 2 Rangers 2 (Gillick,McCormack) - Southern League (16,000)

Torry Gillick scoring as a Teenager, and as a 30 year old, still banging them in.
His first goal for Rangers was against Celtic in 1934,
with his last two goals coming in Cup Finals in 1949.

1976, I was also there.
It was a poor season in between two great trebles.
After the disastrous semi defeat I ended up going to the Final and stood in ths Rangers end.
It was the Ally Macleod Aberdeen team and enjoyed the extra time 2-1 win v Dalglish and all.
Not the same animosity in those days between us and Aberdeen.

2009 - we had a few injuries that night and Danny Wilson and Jordan McMillan were given their first team debuts by Walter.
