1875 - Rangers 1 (Untraced) Vale of Leven 1 - Friendly
For the first three years of their existence Rangers had not had a ground they could call their own, often having to pay schoolboys a few pence to guard their pitch on commom ground. This friendly therefore was the first played at their own ground, at Burnbank on the Great Western Road near Kelvinbridge. The site had been chosen ostensibly because it was close to where the majority of their players lived. The opponents were probably the second best known club in Scotland at the time (Queen's Park being top),although Vale only turned out with ten men.Sadly, history does not recall the name of the first Rangers' goalscorer on their own ground

1996 - Grasshopper Zurich 3 Rangers 0 - European Champions' League Group A (20,030)
Rangers qualified for the group section of the European Champions' League and at first glance, were drawn in a group that gave them a realistic chance of progressing into the knockout stage, especially as the top two sides in each group were to qualify.Auxerre.Ajax and Grasshoppers were all competent sides but one or two points picked up on their travels and a solid home record should have been enough.Instead,Rangers got off to a torrid start in Switzerland and didn't recover until it was too late

2010 - Hamilton Accies 1 Rangers 2 (Jelavic,Miller) - Scottish Premier League (5,356)
Kenny Miller came off the bench to score a stunning late winner for Rangers as they scraped a 2-1 win at Hamilton in the dying moments of the game. The striker was one of the key players rested by manager Walter Smith ahead of facing Manchester United in the Champions League.

perfect header by Jelavic

1971 - Our 3rd defeat of the season at Ibrox against the scum having
already lost two League Cup group qualifying games 0-2 and
0-3. In the league game Colin Stein had a goal disallowed and
lost to a last minute headed goal after Jimmy Johnstone somehow
beat Peter McCloy to the ball

1996 - Grasshopper Zurich 3 Rangers 0 - European Champions' League Group A (20,030)

A truly shambolic performance that said a lot about that team in Europe for most of the decade. Check out the 3rd goal. Cringeingly bad.

i can remember staying up to watch the highlights of that as a wee boy , was it the red and white quarter adidas top that night or the other red and white adidas one with the stripes coming down?

1928 was an eye opener.

That's the 1st time I've known us to play the paedos outside Glasgow and I'm 60 lol

Grasshoppers accused our players of treating the game like a holiday we were that bad. Our form in Europe from Levski Sofia in 93 to Strasbourg in 97 was bloody abysmal come to think of it.

That 1996 Champions League group campaign was a car crash from start to finish.

In all honesty Smith was lucky still to be at Ibrox by the time he left when you look at our abominable record in Europe.
