He may have been booked for dissent. It’s not been cleared up.

When the rule was brought in at first they were definitely booking players but then it was stopped - not sure if that’s global or varies by Association.
Just seems a cheap booking. Uo there with taking your top off.
Can potentially end a players season and get a yellow but by %^*& dont stand on a white line correctly....

Right:

1st game of the playoffs. Goes to penalties.

- Orlando city goalie saves to win them the penalty shoot out. Crowd and players go wild.

- Orlando manager goes down the tunnel.

- VAR decides the Orlando goalie was just off his line. Penalty voided.

- Orlando goalie, already booked, is sent off.

- Orlando bring their sub goalie on.

- Just as NY are about to retake the penalty, the ref realises that Orlando have made all their subs. Tells the “new” goalie to get off.

- Orlando stick an outfield player in goals.

- Nani misses a penalty to win it for Orlando, NY goalie saves it and is clearly off his line. VAR doesn’t intervene. Score is 5-5.

- Orlando outfield player in goals saves the next penalty. Ref confirms it’s a good save and the players all run and celebrate the victory. Ref calls the game. But the score is 5-5. NYFC finally point that out.

- Orlando score their next penalty to win.
Raging! As soon as the save to win the first time
Was made I switched over, watched 5 minutes of the Atl Madrid game then switched over to watch the Columbus game and couldn’t believe it

Watched it live with my jaw on the floor

Surely the repalcememt goalie issue wasn't down to them using all the subs, but the fact u can't make a sub during a penalty shoot out? (Or can you?)

Pretty sure you get booked for coming off the line at penalties.

Got to be one of the strangest ends to a game I can remember. Icelandic boy that missed that penalty will never live it down - the only way the outfield keeper was saving that was if it was fired straight at him and that's what he chose to do.

Would've been better the other way round.

Ronny Delia and Wee Jay's dad doing the Ronny Roar only to realise the shootout continued.

The rule has changed too that any bookings from the 120 mins don’t carry over to penalties so if it was just one yellow in the shoot out it should not have been a second yellow.

Keepers supposed to get a warning too before they get booked for coming off their line but as you say it could have been for dissent.

Just realised the Orlando player who missed was Nani who used to play for Man Utd and he’s only 34!
