Our performances away from home

There have been a couple of notable exceptions but in general we have really struggled to get it together away from home this season. Even in some of the games we've won we've almost contrived to throw it away. Hamilton and St Boo on paper looked relatively comfortable scorelines but for large periods of those games we huffed and puffed against pretty mediocre teams.

We were of course unlucky against Aberdeen and to a certain degree Motherwell but something that has punctuated these games has been the way we either drop out of the game for periods or fail to create against organised defences.

Some bears reckon its shite baggery and a shock that we dropped points today but other than Tynecastle we've not gone away from home in the league this season and dominated. We have really struggled to create chances and outside of Morelos having a superb season we lack goal scoring options. Lafferty, I think it was said, has gone 9 games without a goal in the SPL and we miss a proper goal scoring midfield option, the sort that gets you 10-15 a season. Arfield is the closest we have to that and he was obviously suspended for today.

I'm a little concerned that as an attacking force we are becoming the Alfredo Morelos show. He has carried our attack at times this season and whilst that shows his undoubted quality as the leagues best striker today was a vision of what would happen if god forbid he picked up a major injury.

We're missing a player, or couple of players, with a bit of invention or ability to do something a little different to open teams up.

We struggle to break down well organised teams who sit in deep and get everyone behind the ball, particularly if they score first and have no need to open up and try to get up the pitch.
