Our valuations compared to them

Seeing it Reported in the media that they could sign Jota for €6.5m then try and sell him for €25m.

He has had 3 good months and has been involved in being knocked out of 2 European competitions.

Given we are the champions and playing at a higher level in Europe we should be looking for serious money for a few of our players if this is the bench mark.

The usual media and pundits looking for serious money for any of their players that hit any form. Ours undervalued constantly.

"Seen it reported in the media" = celtic using their journos to bum players values up.

The same has happened for years and they very rarely go for what is said. In fact, most of them end up leaving on free transfers.

Think we all know fine well they're assets are judged completely differently to ours regardless of similarities and accolades. The main thing to remember is that we are grounded in reality whereas they're working off a warped, bizarre, desperate agenda. Media lapdogs do the work for them but anyone with any sort of self awareness knows they're evaluations are over evaluated, straw clutching hogwash.

Why would Benfica not just take him back and then sell him for 25M?
They don't have to sell him to ceptic, they've only agreed the price they would pay if both wanted a deal done.
If Celtic have a contractual option to buy at a certain price, Benfica can’t do anything about it unless Jota was to reject the move.

Similar happened with Jack Hendry in the summer don’t you remember? Celtic agreed a low fee with Oostende which they took up and then a few months later sold him for a substantial profit to Club Brugge.

Really we should be taking advantage of option to buy loan deals like we did with Hagi at every opportunity. Takes a huge chunk of the risk out of buying a player. The only risk is whether the player would want to sign on permanently, but invariably the player always does.

When we had the loan to buy deal for Hagi we kept hearing in the media about teams coming in to hijack the deal.

Could only have happened if Hagi decided to reject Rangers. All the power is with the player in option-to-buy loan deals.

Not gonna kid on, the George Michael prick has been decent for the paedos so I hope he decides he wants to try to move to a different club. To be honest if we win the league the paedos may not even have the ability to cash up for the wee prick anyway.

Or undisclosed fees, which turn out to be a bit lower than what the press report.

I'd assume it's already pre-agreed?

Tbf Jota is some talent and comfortably their best player. One of my old coaches went over to Benfica for some coaching convention and said there was a boy called Jota who was a standout (this was a few years ago now).

£25 million lol I see they are still overdosing on deludemol

They did it last year - whipped the press into printing that they got £11m for Frimpong. It turns out it was £3-4m in the accounts.

Who cares what they bring in for their players whether inflated or real. They have proven adept at wasting it on 1 or 2 good players amongst 10.

I’m guessing because they wouldn’t be able to give him first team football which begs the question where does the £25m valuation stack up - except in the deluge of propoganda.

Jota will return to Portugal at the end of the season, he won't want more than a year in Scotland.

He is a good player but as with most tricky wingers he will go through a bad patch at somepoint

Go look at the Barisic thread. We talk down our own players valuations, no need for media. They do the opposite

Where do you get the £3-4m from?. Their accounts show a total profit of £9.4 million on player sales.

I think Van Dijk, Dembele and to a lesser extent Tierney are the main things which help to bump up their own valuations, they have a track record of sending players to better leagues and those players performing well. If we sold Morelos to Lille when that bid was received and Morelos had an incredible season then you'd probably see far higher bids for Barisic, Tav, Hagi, Patterson, Aribo, Kamara, Kent. I think the press hype helps a lot too, but in general they have a good track record for their players performances post transfer, we don't... yet

Celt!c to sign X...
Celt!c in line for X windfall...
Celt!c battling X clubs for...

Constant lies and not even convincing at the most basic level.

Unintentional comedy gold really.

A player who is seemingly going to move to the EPL for 25 million isn't going to sign for a team in Scotland on 6.5 millions worth of wages

He’s is a sand dancer - show him down the line and do g let him cut inside where he can be dangerous , a few hefty digs early on will see him disappear like snow off a dyke

Them getting £3-4m for Klimala is one of the most bizarre transfers I can remember. Never kicked a ball here yet they get offered that for him? Something doesn't add up.

Celtic have previous for getting good deals for rather average players. Frimpong = £12m. Armstrong, only had 6-12 months left on his contract = £8m.

Logic should tell you they won’t.

Back in the 1990's, we had just won a Treble, went 44 games unbeaten in Scotland, 10 games unbeaten in the Champions League, yet the tabloids had their squad and individual players worth more than ours. Its always been the same.

To be fair they have just signed the new Messi for peanuts and will be looking for 150 million. Although he may be so in love with the scum he would refuse to leave. Probably.

I remember when Wanyama went to somebody for a reported £12m.
Not long after, the buying team bought another player for a club record £10m!

Some of the people on here's valuations of our players are crazy, I actually think some of them would drive them to whatever club is interested and give them away for nothing, it's so weird to read.

There's no way jotas going to sign for them he will be offski and the meltdown it will create should be amusing
