Pathetic Quality From Castore

Had the exact same problem and had to return the 2 items that I purchased. I also had to pay to return said items. All in all I won't be ordering anything else as the stuff is overpriced and I have seen better quality on that wish site. I dont mind paying over the odds for club merchandise but this reeks of ripping folk off and playing on the rfc brand. We shouldn't be ripping off our own IMHO.

I placed an order for some of the lifestyle stuff on Friday and haven't had any sort of dispatch email or anything.

I was instore the other day and bought a sweater, the quality isn't as good as they have been making out it would be. Adidas is my usual go-to for sportswear / hoodies etc and the quality is better than what Castore are churning out and making us pay a fair wedge for.

They need to make their mind up - are they premium or not?

For example, this Adidas hoodie is £49.95 when not on sale: https://www.adidas.co.uk/premium-crew-sweatshirt/FM9917.html

The quality on that is better than the one I paid £65 for from the Rangers Store.

If the stuff in my delivery is the same, I'll be sending them back. Only reason I'm not returning the sweater I bought is I can't be arsed queuing for 2 hours to get £65 back.

Csn only speak as you find, appreciate that, all 3 items I received thus far have been good, home top, grey round neck top with orange writing and black coaches polo shirt. Time will tell if lettering etc remains in place but no issues so far!

That Adidas jumper might be better quality but it's rotten looking

Hopefully the club are reading this thread and wanting to sit down with them and get this sorted. I appreciate Castore had to rush a lot of the range as not much time to get it out but they can’t be allowing quality like that to arrive when people are spending big money.

I hope they are too, mate.

Posting pictures of your gear does more harm than good. It might put customers off forever. Send them an email of the pictures and also contact SLO to make aware. They may overcome their quality control issues, but they could permanently put off potential buyers due to second hand experiences of other supporters. Everyone who bought at the store seems to be happy with it. The pictures are timmy porn and shouldnt be posted publicly.
I think on a Rangers forum he's right to share it, say for instance myself, If I was going to buy one of the premium hoodies at over £100 its a big deal for me, some people have a level of disposable income that others don't. If returns were as easy as with other companies it wouldn't be an issue.
I'd rather we had people like the OP sharing the piss poor stuff he gets rather than sweeping it under the carpet to allow more fans to be conned by a "premium" item or items, spending £100's and then having the arduous task of trying to return it.

I say all of the above as someone who has been defending Castore and loves his home shirt and will be buying the 3rd shirt. But head in the sand stuff doesn't help either!

There's literally dozens of similar pictures on FB and twitter, so the OP is doing nothing more than significant amount of others have done before him. As for SLO and castore, both have been absolutely silent on the issue and judging by social media, appear to be going out their way to avoid addressing the elephants in the room. Fans should not be taken for granted and rangers and castore should be looking to reward our fans with quality merchandise, not expect them to accept mediocrity.

Items were delivered by Royal Mail, but the Returns label seems to suggest Hermes for returns.

Is this correct, I thought Hermes were binned?
Yes its correct.
I'm stuck in the shit show of returning an item and not even getting a reply.

Its fucking nonsense all round to be kind.

Its an undeniable fact that the bulk of Rangers (replica) collection is not made with the same materials or in the location that their elite athlete wear is made at.

The bulk of it still looks nice and feels nice. Even the 100% polyester stuff. Some of the training wear is really good with Elastine / Lycra in the mix.

Printing fails / Quality fails / Logistics fails are a brand killer. They need to learn and actually stop the junk right now.

Ive bought nearly 20 castore items since the deal was announced, both Rangers and non Rangers. Every item is as it should be. Just wish everyone got the same experience.

Unhappy customers will always be louder than happy ones. What threads like this ensure is that other potential customers who were close to buying will now be put off. Who knows if their items would be in good quality. Such posts permanently damage the club, whether or not Castore obviously should have higher quality control in place. What if they get these issues fixed, he same people arent going to come on and say "the castore gear is now top notch" - however there will be a long term lingering section of customers who have been put off. That and the Tim's will be adding to it their personal collection of photos for their next blog and help continue the daily obsession.

I have home & away tops (made in China) and the Garcia hoodie (made in Portugal.) There’s a huge difference in the quality of the hoodie v the strips. My away strip has a ridiculous flaw on it, probably only noticeable to me but once pointed out others see how shoddy it is. Should’ve returned it but have zero confidence in that process.

I doubt it.

There have been countless threads for 3 weeks and all we got was a load of shite in an email last week.

This is genuinely getting to the stage trading standards should be involved its that shockingly bad.

Teething problems were to be expected, but this is on the verge of going beyond that and tipping into shambolic.

Castore need to learn from these mistakes and quickly

Castore have to get it right next season or from winter onwards this year when the next range comes out. Like I said previously this year was rushed for sure and you can’t fault them for that.

They got a lot of grace from our support and still do but it’s already running thin. At the moment it seems we do a hell of a lot more for them and their brand than they do for us.

I mentioned it at the weekend but in my personal opinion I think we’ll move on from them before the end of this deal is up. I don’t believe for one minute that bigger brands will won’t be looking at us shifting the numbers we are, being free of Fat Mike and offer to buy out the contract.

I must be one of the lucky ones who hasn’t had an issue with Castore at all, I would actually go as far to say the stuff is excellent. Other than 1 of my mates not getting his initial order, I don’t know another person who has had an issue out with FF.

Each person that posts a photo is as bad as each other imo. I'm glad they got tbe chance to publicly slate the club. The number of photos of dodgy gear will naturally outnumber the 1000s of happy customers.

Instead of producing fruit of the loom standard sweaters , hoodies and T-shirt’s they would be better concentrating on making more home shirts available for infants, kids and adults to buy. How long is it now since you could buy a home top online?

They had a 3 month turnaround guys ... in the main they have done pretty well taking that into consideration .... the time to really get critical is next year when they have had time to fix the teething problems
By next year it will be too late, 1st impressions are massive and this will cost a lot of sales next year.

I would agree with most people on here that maybe Castore aren’t really fit for purpose for a support of over 50000 ( and that’s just stadium capacity, not mentioning the many thousands of others who don’t go to matches) the support and the demand of such a support is huge, and I think Castore have underestimated the job at hand, as have the club surprisingly.
What I would say in defence of Castore, they’ve battered on about doing an 18month job in 3 months, there would absolutely have been a lot of rushed work and a lot of pressure on the folk actually manufacturing the kits. If made in China you can bet your bottom dollar it’s been made in the usual sweatshops, there would have been mass orders of the kits and a deadline to get them out. There’s always going to be mistakes made, the big problem is that there are too many mistakes and when your paying huge sums of money for the items it kinda makes it worse.

the club should absolutely be looking at it. They’ve used Hermes as an excuse for poor delivery of the items, damages to them etc, but they can only blame themselves here and need to rectify these issue pronto or the club and the brand are going to be looking very silly to the outside world.

get it sorted Castore, get it sorted Rangers. The fans deserve far far better than the dross being served here.

See when it comes to kit deals and people get shot down for wanting a top brand and told “they’re just templates”. It’s not the actual design that’s important, Hummel and Castore are two bob outfits when it comes to football, and it has shown

I've said this before I'll say it again

Castore Brand is amazing

Rangers Castore is substandard

I've bought 4 castore items and they've been perfect.

I've bought 3 Rangers Castore items and they've all had something wrong with them.

Added to the customer service being non existent, the only way I'd buy something as if I can see it, see the quality before buying it.

Mixed bag. When I went in store I was going to get a hoodie as well as the 3rd strip. The strip I really like and think it's good quality, I decided against the hoodie as it just felt quite cheap imo for. £65. Got a similar quality feel one online for £15, may not last as long but I could get 4!

I actually thought the Hummel stuff was decent to be fair. Especially last seasons kits and training wear.

Has anyone got back to you on when infant kits will be available?

See for me, if you ain't happy with it just send it back, no forum post. Absolutely sick of pics being posted by Rangers fans that then gets picked up by Tim's and circulated over twitter.
That would be a fair point if it was an isolated incident. People need to know so they can thoroughly check their stuff either in the shop or when it arrives.

I’m not confident these transfers will last more than a handful of washes either.

So essentially they're a fashion brand, not suited for mass sporting apparell.

Maybe we'll go with All Saints or something for our next one.

This ...

Its a fair point and agree that some of the quality issues people are experiencing is not what we expected when Castore brand identity is top of range quality sportswear. However i don't think any manufacturer we went with could have done much better in 3 months to be honest

I had a look at the leisure gear when i was in the shop and never bought any as it looked cheap, especially for the prices they were charging

Sure it was £35 for a basic plain cotton t-shirt with the small logos which as you say are ironed on.

My guess is they were trying to rush a large range of stuff for the launch of the shop but the quality has lacked. if they had matched the prices with the quality then fair enough, tshirt looked no more than £20

I got the black sweatshirt with the small Rangers and Castore logos in orange from the shop last week, all good with mine but noticed that they're £5 dearer online, £50 in the shop, £55 online.

After 7 long weeks of waiting my young lads kit arrived yesterday. He was super excited only to find out....no hagi on the back..don't even know how to return it as you've just said Hermes are binned..emailed them but they haven't replied to one yet so il probably have to wait another 7 weeks to get it sorted.
Extremely disappointed

I received my stadium cap I ordered on Saturday night, arrived this morning, great service just a shame it’s not what I ordered! I wanted the ALL BLACK cap clearly shown on the website! I received a black and orange which isn’t shown on the website! Also in the bag was details to contact Hermes if I need to return it! Like I said this was late Saturday night, after Castore had sackes off Hermes! So why still send out the paperwork with Hermes on it! Piss poor imo! I’m 350 down south so have no choice but to use the on line at this moment in time! 14 to send back, I’ll be lucky to receive an email response in that time period from what I’ve seen and read so far!! Not impressed at all!

We’re not here to be cheerleaders for Castore. They manufacture our kit and clothing range, any supporter receiving poor or below par products isn’t acceptable.

Rangers took the gamble with a new entrant to the market and they need to sort it out. Supporters opening their wallets are frustrated.

Castore seem to be a Tier 3 supplier from unacceptable delays, being unable to meet demand and poor quality on some products. Mistakes happen but so far it isn’t good enough.

They’ll need to do a lot to see out the 5 year deal if this continues.

Mr Beahon was happy to be in front of the cameras telling us what they were intending to do. Time to get them back in front of the cameras again.

Folk wanting to rip up a five year deal because of teething issues ffs:D

If we go back to "umbro or Adidas" we'll get a lump sum at the start of the deal and nothing after.

This deal is very important for us going forward.

Appreciate folk being unhappy about purchases but the absolute overreaction to everything on here is tiresome.
The apparent hatred on this forum towards Castore Gerrard Hagi Kent borders at times on the ridiculous some Rangers fans need a reality check it’s 2020 not 2008

FAULTY GOODS

Faulty goods means manufacturing issues. Items that are damaged as a result of normal wear and tear are not considered to be faulty.

Refunds will be credited to the purchaser’s original method of payment. Original shipping charges will not be refunded.

And this is a nonsense.
Delivery charges not refunded for faulty goods?

I know my delivery was free because the spend was over £150 – but many others will be affected by this.
No one should be paying delivery for faulty goods and not having the money refunded.

Also, the returns cost us to send them back.
Again, this should be getting paid by Castore.
Why should it cost the fans money to return faulty items?

You're telling me fans who receive faulty goods are expected to pay for delivery of the items and then pay to send them back?

Pathetic state of affairs.

The home top is bang average, a bit better than Puma maybe and nowhere near Umbro. Bad sizing, very thin material and some wide of the mark finishing in terms of accuracy (lines, lettering etc).

People were desperate to love it as Fat Man was gone.

In reality charging £60 for a t shirt or top and having stick on letters is a nonsense.

I wondered whether I should post as I don't want the deal to get negative publicity – but I felt I have a duty to raise this issue.

Our fans are spending hundreds and thousands on merchandise – and are continually being let down by Castore.
It’s really important that people with credibility like yourself post the truth as it is the only way that the company will be shamed into taking proper remedial action and giving fans something resembling value for money.
Castore made many assertions about what they would, and would not, do when they got this contract and it would appear that they are breaking many of the assurances on quality that they gave at the time.

@David Edgar @mdingwall @Greg Marshall @Robert Marshall

With 'perfect' timing, I've just received my daily Castore email.
It even has a picture of Steven Gerrard today.

Sounds great.
Wish the reality matched up to this:

So, funnily enough Rangers Castore just emailed me back.

For clarity the situation so far is that the home top I preordered was a cluster %^*&. Castore gave me £5 for postage - I thought it was for the cost of what I paid but its not, its for the Hermes return. Anyway, hermes are that shit they haven't collected it yet.

In the meantime I bought the travel jacket in blue and the grey training tee shirt.

The travel jacket is frayed and has a hole in the pocket (the colour also runs when wet, careful) , the training shirt is now missing letters on the inside. No biggy but it doesn't bode well for the rest of the shirt.

I emailed my concerns and after a week, and a subsequent chaser email, they replied asking for a picture of the shirt, no mention of the stadium jacket.

I sent them pictures of both, politely nudging that they missed any reference to the jacket.

They have just replied offering me 20% if I keep the home shirt, no reference to anything else (they replied to my latest email so no excuses). But what's worse is, they didn't read my email, they haven't acknowledged the cluster %^*&. They replied with a copied response, that was sent previously to someone else.

Premium brand? %^*& off.

I'm extremely angry, saddened and disappointed. There are 0 excuses.

I’ve seen many complaints about the quality of the Castore gear yet they claim how good the quality it is. They better get it sorted for the brand of the Club.

I ordered the grey hoody and some joggers. The quality of the joggers is excellent, the hoody is alright but nothing special
