Pathetic Quality From Castore

Isn't the training gear printed on too?

If you've been in the store, their more casual offerings like the tshirts and jumpers have the Castore and Rangers logos transferred on and it looks cheap as hell. Fair play to anyone buying it but I'll stick to jerseys or training gear.

I keep reading about how Castore is premium gear and perhaps some of their non-footballing gear might well be.

I purchased the home and away tops and I thought the quality was decidedly average. No better than Hummel or Puma imho.

Folk wanting to rip up a five year deal because of teething issues ffs:D

If we go back to "umbro or Adidas" we'll get a lump sum at the start of the deal and nothing after.

This deal is very important for us going forward.

Appreciate folk being unhappy about purchases but the absolute overreaction to everything on here is tiresome.

I'm waiting on one arriving, as long as its half decent I'll be happy.
It's only clothing, I've got loads more stressful stuff to deal with other than a sticker not being perfectly straight.
You'll pay over the top half decent clothing?

I wondered whether I should post as I don't want the deal to get negative publicity – but I felt I have a duty to raise this issue.

Our fans are spending hundreds and thousands on merchandise – and are continually being let down by Castore.

Totally understand that but first and foremost you're a consumer. If you've not received what you paid for you have every right to get your money back. It's just a shame it's Rangers gear. But things won't improve if they don't get that feedback.

I preordered the home top and I think it's absolutely brilliant but I am holding off buying anything else until I can get up from Dumfries and into the shop and can physically look at everything. There's been a few issues with tops and it seems like a real hassle getting any correspondence back.

I think by and large Castore have done a great job with the kits and training gear. But when they've failed they've failed hard.

First signs aren't great in my opinion. I expected sewn on crest etc. Seeing the pressing lines on shirts is amateur. Also feel that they missed a trick by not having sponsor-less tops.

I've bought quite a few things. Non strip related. One tshirt has been washed once and the wings are starting to peel off.

Everything else I'm happy with however, some have not been worn or washed yet.

All football strips have been great.

Think I will pause getting anything else new.

That is shockingly bad.

No idea why any company would want to destroy their brand reputation before they've even got going.
Quite simply they have jumped into a deal with us and have not anticipated the demand. Going by the pictures they have hurried deals with sub standard manufacturers and this is the result.

Teething problems are to be expected and a bit of ridicule may follow, its how they react to it that will be telling.

Was obvious from the get go that it would be cheap shite and miles off the stuff they sell for a fortune on their own website.

I bought the black and orange hoody In store and had to ask the lassie at till if the badge was squint or was it just me being para.

She said it looks the same as my top so should be fine. Guy in queue had a training top where badge looked squint too.

Once it's on it looks fine but very concerning.

I’ve made several purchases.

Home top was too small, can’t get a hold of it in my size for now.

3rd top I noticed a couple of imperfections while I was waiting to pay and I took it back and swapped it for another. I’ve since noticed there seems to be a press burn of some sort.

Orange training top, the C was missing from Castore, didn’t notice until I got home and they’re nowhere to be seen now so that got refunded.

Navy sweatshirt, the Rangers and Castore logos are at different heights and it doesn’t look right.

A navy t-shirt and a pair of flip flops are the only items I haven’t had some sort of issue with. It’s frankly just not good enough.

Not normally but all football gear is over the top pricing.
The hoodie will just be for about the house anyway not for nights out or that.
I get to wear Rangers stuff, Rangers get some of my money so I'll be happy.
If it was to turn up with holes or dirty marks etc then I'd probably want to send it back though.

This is turning out an absolute disaster them stick on badges look terrible on a hoody/jumper at them prices is nothing short of a disgrace to be honest.
You'd think for the money punters are shelling out we could at least expect the badge to be embroidered. You'd think Castore, given the contract they landed would bust a gut to make sure the merchandise was A1, there is a puma look to the jerseys.

They had a 3 month turnaround guys ... in the main they have done pretty well taking that into consideration .... the time to really get critical is next year when they have had time to fix the teething problems

It's a shame for some fans who's only realistic option is to order online and have delivered.

After the intial launch debacle I made the decision to never pre order anything again and also to only shop in store where I can physically see and check before I buy.

There are far too many similar stories to this.

Castore, as it stands, are not fit for purpose and the club have to take them to task, in my opinion.

The Castore guys can clearly talk the talk – but they're utterly failing to deliver on their promises.

I must admit, I was expecting a better quality of playing shirt from what I had been hearing.

It was ok don’t get me wrong, but it didn’t feel a cut above anything that we’d in years gone by.
Totally agree. Was at the store last week and expected a real “wow factor”. However I found it hard to see the quality difference from last season’s kit. Not much you can do with 100% polyester.

They had the gear that the OP referred to but the quality in store was very good. Pricing wasn’t too bad either, standing comparison with high street retailers.

100% worth it to get fat mike away but long term this lot are not the answer.

Purchased this on Friday:

RFC COTTON LS TEE - NAVY/WHITE; RFC COTTON SWEATER - NAVY/WHITE; RFC COTTON HOODY - NAVY/WHITE.

I was £160 for that lot.
However, I’ve just received them, and I'm disgusted with the lack of quality.

On the sweater, the Castore words are missing letters and the Castore logo isn't straight.
The RFC crest is also miles off being straight.

The t-shirt and hoodie are OK on this front, but the quality in general leaves a lot to be desired.

Are normal Castore items made in India like this cheap shit?
And when I say cheap shit, I mean the quality – not the prices, which are anything but cheap.

I'm so disgusted with the poor quality of the sweater that I'm returning all three.

I've got the home and away shirt, but these will be my last Castore purchases unless the item is embroidered.

Gutted not to be able to support my club.

See for me, if you ain't happy with it just send it back, no forum post. Absolutely sick of pics being posted by rangers fans that then gets picked up by Tim's and circulated over twitter.

Each to their own, but I disagree.

This isn't about the Tims, it's about Rangers fans – and we deserve so much better than what we're currently receiving from Castore.

I couldn't care less what the scum think – I just want Rangers fans to get the quality items they're paying a lot of money for.

That’s disgraceful and the op has every right to point this out

the amount of money spent by us on this stuff the least we expect is good quality castore not exactly starting with a great impression
Oh well the club will be making even less now that instead of just sending it back the OP has plastered it over FF. If you ain't happy then just return it, dont put off other fellow fans who want to buy the gear. Let them make their own mind up.

One of the shoulders on my home shirt is higher than the other.

I tend to find that the majority of football gear is cheap, mass produced rubbish.

All about profit.

Castore needs to come out and explain to fans what exactly has gone wrong. They talked about only 3% orders not fulfilled but when you add in all the issues being detailed on here and social media, you'd have to expect that a much higher proportion of stock is defective in some form. These guys were quick to engage fans media, but where are they now? Heart and hand need to be pushing to get these guys back on to face the music, take accountability and try and win back some faith

Same mate I dont disagree. I just think theres more constructive ways to go about it.

I've got the 3rd top, absolutely love it and have no issues.

It seems there are more issues with the training range. Will be getting a polo and the grey 3/4 zip. So they will be getting bought in store when they are back in stock.

He has every right to air his grievances. And judging by the responses on here and social media, I hope your prepared to criticise a hell of alot more fans, because alot are unhappy

It’s really not going well is it.

I just got my refund for my unfulfilled order today but I’m still awaiting the voucher.

Ordered the third top today also. If there is any issues with that then I doubt I will purchase anything else during the Castore deal.

It was always a big risk partnering with a company that didn’t have the infrastructure in place for decent quality mass production.

Disappointing as our support are desperate to spend money on this stuff.

Castore are conning us with there ‘premium brand’ patter. It’s just a phrase to make us think we’re getting a superior product for slightly higher prices than some folk would normally pay for football clothing. Just because there not a mainstream brand and have a couple of pop up shops down south doesn’t make them premium. The quality control dept in there warehouse must be doing some job judging by many of the poorly finished products being allowed to be sent out for delivery.

Not going to lie, I needed some new training gear and had a look in their site. 5 minutes looking and I found myself going on the Under Armour site spending £190 for quite a few quality items. I was sticking up for Castore quite a bit but that’s shocking.

At least you got a delivery!
I’m £120 down, no training gear, bought 2 weeks ago and been ignored with every email I have sent requesting an update!!

There is a touch of emperor’s new clothes about Castore in my view.

I bought a golf polo, zipper and trousers a couple of months back. I returned the lot as the polo shirt was not of good quality to the point with it being white you could see a black square shining through the back where the label inside is embossed it was so thin. The zipper was also really thin, and not comparable to the likes of J.Lindeberg, Boss, G/Fore or Galvin Green I would normally use for golf.

In terms of Rangers gear I bought the home top, the navy training top, training shorts, training zipper and rain jacket. The quality of those is fine, but not any better than Adidas, Nike etc but you read on here how amazing the quality is, and how it’s so much better.

I just don’t see it myself.

Very poor service and not at all cheap.
Expect a lot better than that, seems to be a number of issues with Castore products. As much as I want, I am holding onto my hard earned until these issues are resolved.

I’ve been very defensive of Castore in past threads on here and on other social media but just a small point which I was speaking to a mate about.

Castores normal gear sells for over £100 for a top or hoody which I imagine will be premium quality.

The Rangers stuff is going to be cheapish quality as they are selling it for £50-£60, there’s no chance in hell thats going to be premium quality, I suppose this is going to be a problem with dealing with a more ‘premium brand’ than dealing with say Adidas or Nike who are used to making football gear.

Really think the Club needs to sit down with the Castore guys again and sort all the problems quickly

I 100% agree with that but we both know that isnt going to happen unfortunately.

I was buzzing when I seen what they were promising at the start but has all been wind and pish.

Unfortunately these aren’t isolated incidents either, I’ve literally saw dozens of similar cases on social media.

It’s hugely embarrassing and incredibly frustrating.

Hopefully the club are reading this thread and wanting to sit down with them and get this sorted. I appreciate Castore had to rush a lot of the range as not much time to get it out but they can’t be allowing quality like that to arrive when people are spending big money.

60 quid for a polo top isn't cheap quality.

I have been disappointed with the Castore “Orange wings” rangers t shirts I bought 2 from the shop one for me and one for my son - I have Not worn mine yet but my son has worn his and despite following the washing instructions the Castore print has started to detach
I have to be honest disappointed as I have bought numerous t shirts far less expensive and not experienced this
Now I have to go over to the shop to replace it ☹️

It's simply not good enough op ... I'm now glad there is not much womens gear available at the moment. Get it sorted Castore on all fronts please because we want to spend and money we want to buy stuff but we want it to be decent quality!!!!

Posting pictures of your gear does more harm than good. It might put customers off forever. Send them an email of the pictures and also contact SLO to make aware. They may overcome their quality control issues, but they could permanently put off potential buyers due to second hand experiences of other supporters. Everyone who bought at the store seems to be happy with it. The pictures are timmy porn and shouldnt be posted publicly.
