Platini arrested over giving Qatar the World Cup 2022

You missed off the SFA from your list

I did indeed but am sure most national association are reeking with bias.

I think FIFA and UEFA crooks are reaping far greater financial rewards that anyone at the SFA - they are taking football away from the working class fan and they need stopped.

Mmmm......
All that schmoozing and gloating about their powerful connections, and all for nothing

Everything they touch really does turn to sh*t, doesn't it :))

Nations, especially European ones, should boycott the World Cup.

It sends so many messages in one manoeuvre;

People have died as a direct affect of this corruption, we won't accept that.
100's of clubs and leagues around the world will have to work around the World Cup schedule and teams will have players injured etc just to accommodate Blatter and his rich buddies.
Fifa don't have the game's best interests at heart and we shouldn't stand for it.

Change will only happen if we force it, unfortunately.
The problem is the non-Euro players. The Brazilians and Argies will still want their players, so the bigger European teams won't be full strength (unless the leagues observe an extended Winter break, but that still wrecks two seasons of football)

The players won't dare say no. they couldn't show their faces in Rio or Buenos Aires again, or their families

It's easy to say countries should boycott the World Cup but how disappointed would you be as a player if you missed out on playing in the World Cup.

Is it for nothing? They have had a never-ending catalogue of trouble at home and abroad, involving attacks of players, sectarian singing, fireworks/pyro, unacceptable banners and protest, yet all they have had are meaningless minor fines.

Others with far better records have faced far stiffer penalties for far less.

I’d saying having friends at UEFA has helped them hugely.

That’s before you even get to the absolutely disgraceful Sion and Legia Warsaw debacles that have handed them tend of millions of pounds and untold additional coefficient points.

No other club in Europe has had such favourable treatment.

They're now tainted by association. The current guys will be keen to disassociate themselves with friends of the previous corrupt regime

Not really, England had applied for it and would likely have got it if not for Qatar buying it. He's not saying give it to England for no reason.

Blatter was never going to give it to England.
He hated England, and Greg Dyke the FA chief who was one of his bitterest adversaries.
Dyke had called him out on corruption a few times.
He would have given it to The Faroe Islands before England.

Remember this corrupt cnut suggested that the Champions League final be played in Paris every year.

Phenomenal player. I wonder where and when his head got turned? Turin during his playing days perhaps?

Everyone knows what'll happen here of course - this mob will close ranks quicker than the Charlies over Bheastgate.
Probably when he was taken into the inner sanctum of governing bodies. Corruption was rife so why not have some of it. Better in their eyes than resigning and being forgotten about.

does the next corrupt fud just step up and its buisiness as usual.a complete gut out is required.same as sfa/spfl.

44 lives lost so far because of this decision, disgusting prick.
Also didn't give a f.uck about the 39 Juve fans who died at Heysel as he wildly celebrated winning the cup, the prick was running about bare chested after the game FFS!

This quote was also attributed to him only this year: “The ‘pearl’ was a phrase said to me under his breath by Platini at the airport: ‘More people are killed on the roads, why make such a fuss?’”
He said that enroute to a memorial service at Heysel.

Yes, his actions that night sum up the ‘man.’

It's probably only England and Germany who have the infrastructure already in place to host it at such short notice so that might not be a bad shout. Long way to go before they even consider removing it from Qatar though.

Spain or Italy

Nice sunny summer football tournament. Brilliant.

Hopefully this is only to the first crack in the dam.

FIFA and UEFA are both can a disgrace, not to mention our own in Liewell’s pocket SFA.

Genuinely hope Platini does time and spills the beans on all the rest to shorten his sentence

Unfortunately Lawell is protected by his own country’s government.

Are folk giving Peter Lawwell far, far, far to much credence over his influence at an extremely powerful level?

So far we have him running Scottish Football aided and abetted by the Scottish Government and now he has ease of influence over the major hitters at FIFA and UEFA.

What's next, FFS!? o_O

I'm sure it was the 1982 world cup when Platini had an affair with one of the other players wifes, apparently common knowledge in France ,not sure of the other players name Daniel Rochteax or something like that but there was a game where they wouldn't pass to each other
They could have & should have won the tournament that year
Slimey bassa right enough
