Police Scotland: Shutting down Rangers fans' title parties would have sparked significant disorder

It is probably fair to say the scenes outside Ibrox and George Square on Saturday are going to be unrivalled and will probably never see such scenes like what is about to come ever again in Scotland. The 10 year wait to finally lift the Scottish Premiership Trophy is finally coming to an end. Celtic have crumbled at the last hurdle. You won't even be able to see Glasgow from the amount of smoke that will have drifted into the air from the amount of smokebombs and fireworks about to be set off!

To put fans fears at ease, Police Scotland recently released a statement to the papers saying that they never tried to break up any of the title parties over the two days back in March incase they caused a riot.

Same again Saturday, Police Scotland, just let the Rangers supporters enjoy themselves and there will be no trouble. The worst thing they could possibly do is start filling both locations up with a ridiculous amount of police officers and start their heavy handed tactics.

They have the potential to start a riot if they begin to intervene where they shouldn't. They know there are going to be over 100,000 Rangers fans attending between both locations so you would hope they have the common sense to let us enjoy ourselves and only feel the need to step in if any fans require their assistance to receive help with anything.

Maybe,just maybe if they'd done their job when the scum from the east end rioted and chased team buses,there wouldn't have been the so called parties.
 
As far as I'm aware its just Celtic fans spreading rumours. The police can't just close down the city centre because Rangers fans want to celebrate. The pub and hotel owners would have been told in advance and posted on their social media pages if they were being forced to close if tourists and such have already booked.

Absolutely but there is the prospect of the great unwashed infiltrating the crowds and instigating trouble, that's the mindset of these people

It’s ok saying don’t give the press anything negative to say about us but where you have large gatherings of people throw in alcohol and the usual idiots then I’m afraid it’s inevitable we will get bad press.
 
They should just focus on phoning Biffa up to get 100s of big bins put around George sq and the surrounding areas as it’s only really the rubbish leftover that is ever an issue. Instead they act all suprised when the 10 household bins around the sq are overflowing within 5 mins
