PPG to win the league from now.

Currently 2.214 to win the league based on 97 points the target at the moment and 14 games left (31/14).

As we win more and number of games reduce obviously target reduces and we can get to 0 before 38 games. If they drop points as games proceed the target drops likewise so this needs recalibrated after each game.

The number required is always going to be inaccurate because we still have to play them twice. It is a good marker though.
Next 3 games are Ross County at home, Hibs away, st Johnstone at home. 7 points seems the most likely outcome.

My countdown on games is 10, as we require 14, and we’ve got 4 in the bag plus a much superior goal difference.

They need to go on a 17 game winning streak

We need to win 10 games out of the next 14 if they win 17 in a row

Or for the less statistically minded ..... we just need to keep winning. :D

Not so sure. If they win 17 it means they’ve beaten us twice. Let’s say they win 2-0 each game that is a -8 on the GD. And by your scenario we will have lost 2 further games and maybe they could hump someone 7-0 so GD takes a battering. Unlikely but not impossible it could get edgy.

The calculation always includes the maximum number of points they can win. Hence its 31/14 at the moment because they can now only get 96 points so our target is 97 points (31 points from now divided by number of games we have left). It’s a great calculation and way of working and should be used from now on for ever.

We would need to be getting beat 5-0 in games to make it an issue

Start of every season I usually try & work it to if we can get 30 wins & 4 draws we wont be too far of being champions, hopefully we can keep the current run going.

It basically comes down to 31 points. That eliminates any goal difference from the equation.

The max they can get is 96 pts. We are already at 66.

Any combination of us winning and them dropping points totaling 31 and the title is ours.
At today’s date. Changes on Wednesday when the supercomputer will be fired up one more.

We managed 2 pts per game over the course of the full season in 2018/19. (66 pts from 33 (that's pre-split)). We're far better now. It will take a capitulation of huge proportions to throw this lead away.

Thanks OP.

Just to put this in a different context we need 7 points from every 9, or 2 wins & a draw every 3 matches.

And that's only if they are taking 3 points per game.
No we don’t as a draw or win against them changes it

8 wins clinches the league.

They need to win 14 out of 16 games to reach 90 points. No way that happens.

There is no way that C*lt*c team are winning 16 games in a row, so reality is the target will be much less.

Prior to kick-off it'll be 31 games played, we'll be on 87pts and they'll be on 73pts.

A win and we'll be 17pts ahead (plus GD) with 6 games to play.
Cheers, so we need them to draw another game. Problem is can see them dropping more than that!
Not that it matters in the grand scheme, just want every last grain of salt in those scum wounds.

So if we both win our games until then they’d only need to draw a game after it and it’s ours?

The way things are going, we could drop a few points between now and the next OF and they would still be further behind than they are now. You can make a convincing case for them dropping points in every match, regardless of whether home or away or who the opposition is. We might be in a position where even a draw at their midden would be enough to clinch the title, although it would be nice to party like it was 1999 again!

We need 29 points to win the league.

Every point we get takes one form that

Every point the other lot drop takes one form that.

Still a lot of football to be played

That's the way to do it.

If their season isn’t amusing enough already the sheep could go ahead of them for a Cl place a few days before we win the league at the Tattiedome.
