I agree, only reason it is here is for the money..... UEFA at its best eh. The stadiums look unreal though

see a german side started its protest against the upcoming WC
Loads have done it, was this Kaiserslautern?

To be fair many who do these protests don’t go anyway as they hate the D F B - easy to protest against something you wouldn’t go to in even say Spain.

I’m going for 3 nights for the second round. Cost a few quid but I’m over the human rights thing now, too many things I disagree with in Britain that bother me more to be honest. It shouldn’t be there but it’s more than likely the only time I’ll ever go that part of the world and I love World Cups so sod it. Intrigued to see what it’s actually like with my own eyes now, I’ve looked at the bloody place enough on the internet!

I love how active fan groups are in Germany but this seems to be a bit of a cop out. The decision was made 12 years ago, why are they protesting 2 months before it starts? It's not like they've just sprung it on them.

Same as Bayern fans protesting against CL reforms. When the changes happen they will still be filling out the stadium for the matches. Their club is an absolute flat track bully which should go against everything they stand for, but I don't see them wanting Bundesliga reforms.

Anyway, really hope you enjoy it and a lot of fans travel.

Gets a bit over the top from these Ultra groups at times, most of its copy cat stuff. Bayern Ultras ain’t done much against the infamous white T that you can see at every match - been there about 10 years now.

Like I say I’m intrigued by it now, always like seeing things with my own eyes - even if they are crap! Even more so with all the journalists joining in on it, I’ve just heard Laura Woods on about “typical away days” whatever one of those is to her. See what happens anyway. Cheers pal.

The Qatar World Cup games could be less interesting than watching The Pakistani Army provide security at the competition. There will be a few 'back handers' given out over there both physically and in monetary terms. Their known for their brutality and not diplomacy. And that is not even considering their Army and Intelligence services tacit support for Islamic Terrorism. Could be a real s hit show.

I seriously doubt her away day is anything like the vast majority of travelling fans!

I admire your excitement
Only going for 3 nights pal, if it's crap you take it on the chin and move on - me moaning about it ain't going to change things is it. I know it'll be a different experience than a weekend involving 30 odd pints down the local boozers which I have done about 100 times before in my lifetime.

Be good when it starts I reckon. Be quite weird watching in the snow and dark at 4pm and it's scorching hot there.

I said in a previous post -
Qatar held the Asian Games in 2006 at the same time of the year
The closing ceremony took place in a serious gale & it was cold enough for jackets (wow)

It most likely will be hot, dry & sunny for the entire tournament- but it's certainly not a certainty
