Radio Scotland just now they are doing long piece about UEFA and awarding titles etc

No doubt they will provide a balanced view of the situation, outlining the pros and cons of each option.

Aye right, they will Undoubtedly sing from the Celtic songbook and surmise that they must surely leave places as is and award Celtic the title.#tainted

fed up reading "One source said " etc

Peter Lawwell is the source we all know this. He is setting the narrative. Yet our own Mr Robertson who is indeed on the board for making this decision keeps his powder dry. Well, he better be doing this for a reason and that reason better not be what his track record suggests.

Who said ‘one source’ HB ?

English & McLaughlin speaking to Doncaster & Lawwell yesterday.

Aberdeen chairman saying in the States he has had conversations with club owners in various sports who are planning on not playing in front of live crowds until the end of the year. They are looking at playing games live on TV without paying crowds.

Why don’t they just call this season null and void all over Europe, and start next season’s Champions League and Europa Leagues again?

No qualifiers, and those that had qualified for the groups in those competitions at the start of season 19/20 are in the group stages again for season 20/21, which are redrawn.

It puts an end to this ridiculous handing over of titles and without qualifiers it gives every thing time to settle down and players get a proper pre season and are fresh to start.

Interesting comments on furloughing from the Sheep guy. Their legal advice is that they cannot furlough the players because they are staying fit and uploading their daily data to a database for review by the Sports Science guys. Players are also telephoning vulnerable fans. Both classed as work so not eligible for furlough.

No-one should be surprised when the inevitable happens and the filth are gifted the most tainted title of all.

This mob are no stranger to climbing over dead bodies to get what they want. A worldwide pandemic certainly hasn’t altered their fucked up morals.

Because they dont want to lose the tv money. That's why this closed doors scenario keeps popping up. They get their viewers and they're advertising. Only way that could be stopped was if nobody subscribed, but that wont happen and the tv companies know it.

Personally I cant stand watching the games with no crowd. Seeing the few that were shown from Italy before it stopped was enough for me.

Scottish football - as with most European Leagues - couldn’t sustain this state of affairs as the majority of clubs income comes from Matchday footfall in terms of tickets and associated matchday revenue streams like hospitality and catering

The US leagues could absorb this temporary measure, as could the EPL, Bundesliga and maybe at a push La Liga and Serie A could prop up the smaller clubs if the big boys agreed to be more egalitarian in divvying up TV money, but spectator-less football is a non-starter in small TV markets like ours

I try to defend our ex players as much as possible but if Barry Ferguson said that he should be bloody ashamed.

Ferguson, like everybody else they wheel out, has a vested interest in this. He wants Kelty promoted into the league. You don’t hear so much from representatives of teams that miss out if the league is called with current positions and champions/relegation based on that.

If Kelty Hearts mean more to him than Rangers then I despair.

Wouldn’t listen - but I would bet my mortgage is was along the lines off. Award title to C*****, sporting integrity. Anything else is for reasons other than football (c) Nuremberg Hugh

Excuse me if I am wrong but their own rules make no provision for cancellation of the league. They state that the “competition” is 38 games long. If we have only played 29 and no more games can be played then, by their own rules the season is incomplete.

They either VOID or they play to a finish. Thems the rules. As they cannot fit in any more games it’s fucking VOID.

Making rules up on the fly to the detriment of Rangers however seems to be allowed so not doubt BBC Scotland’s wet dream will come to fruition.

No, there's a phrase in the rule along the lines of "or as otherwise determined by the SPFL" for the season being over.

But the longer this goes on the more pointless a discussion it becomes. UEFA clearly want the leagues to be played to a finish behind closed doors, whenever that might be. Thats the only way this is heading. So be it. Solutions will need to be found for players whose contracts are up, and for fitting in next season. That's what we should now be discussing.

Rangers can’t and won’t say a word as it’s all speculation at the moment.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens and take it from there.

Barry may well have used those very words but to use them in isolation gives the impression, as one headline had it, that he thinks Celtic should be awarded the title and the Rangers fans will just need to accept it.
This is not what he said.
He pointed out that titles should be won on the pitch, that they should not simply be handed out and that, like all genuine football people, he hoped the season could be resumed and played to a conclusion.
He then pointed out that the longer it went on it seemed obvious that football was not going to be resumed this season and that with all that's going on in the world there were more important things and that he was gradually caring less and less about such things as football titles. (A point of view that has been expressed by many on here)
It was then that he made the comment that whatever the ultimate decision was as to how we end the season we would all just have to accept it.
The media jumped on this as Barry saying we should just accept Celtic being gifted the title but that's not a true reflection of what was said.

I think they'll be awarded it .
To think how tainted the eight in a row is, then you add in this shit .
There will be more asterisk than titles .

Ferguson didn't exactly put our very reasonable point of view forward. His brother was worse on the same program a couple of weeks back when all the poets on it were saying their team should be given the title. So we can get on with allocating the cash according these rats.

They played a short clip of Barry, we should accept whatever decision is made.

Barry usually just goes along with whatever agenda his paymaster Peter Martin sets. You also have to remember he's the manager of Kelty Hearts who are top of the league. I bet the last thing he wants is another year in the lowland league.

Fair enough, but why can’t he just come out and say Celtic cannot be awarded at title they did not win. He should have been empathising that first and foremost.

Dave king could be the source and the mentally challenged media wouldnt even do his dirty work. We need to realise, it doesnt matter who is in control at the top of Ibrox. How do we legitimately get back control of any external media?

Like many of our ex players, particularly some who are not exactly brain of Britain material or media savvy, they allow themselves to be badgered until they make a statement that the rattlers in the media can latch onto.
Unless they are particularly strong in their opinion and smart enough to deal with the snide fckrs in the media then they should steer well clear.

Are you trying to tell me that the media and loads of fans are simply looking at the headline quotes and not reading into what he ACTUALLY said? I'm shocked
