Ranger UEFA licence in 2011 still under consideration by SFA

The Scottish Football Association will make a decision before the end of the year whether to pursue Rangers in connection with "alleged irregularities" in the Ibrox club's application for a UEFA licence in 2011.

Two years ago, the SFA tasked its compliance officer with launching an investigation into the application

Rangers are understood to have had an unpaid tax liability at the time the application was submitted which, had it been disclosed, would have almost certainly voided the application and Celtic would have competed in the early qualifying rounds of the Champions League rather than their Glasgow rivals.

The Light Blues maintain that the "Five-Way Agreement" signed in 2012 by the SFA, Scottish Premier League, Scottish Football League, the old Rangers and the new club set up by Charles Green means that Scottish football's governing body has no jurisdiction in the matter.

Last July, the Association's judicial panel agreed, and indicated that the case would be referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland, if they decided to punish the club.

SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell told The Times: "I would expect that to come back to the board in the not too distant future.

“It [going to CAS] is still under consideration. We’ll come back on that in due course. I wouldn’t want to put a timescale on it... but I don’t think we would let it go for ever.”

Will they aye.

A politician’s answer because of the obsessed’s obsession.

But surely with the background of systemic child abuse happening at one of their two biggest clubs and their role as the national game’s (sleeping, negligent?) governing body, the ides that this is even being raised for discussion is tasteless and...yes...genuinely offensive

This patsy Maxwell and the paedo harbouring and protectors at the SFA need taken down

Time for Dave King to wield the silver bullet to the SFA and Resolution 12 FC and ask what are the sanctions for a paedo ring at Nonce FC for over 50 years

Covering up systematic CSA and protecting criminals within Scottish football requires punishment so Dave King needs to light the blue touch paper and openly question what sanctions Nonce FC will be facing ?

Someone give them a number for BDO
Petrie going into the head of power at the SFA coupled with this nonsense?? Hmmm
The shitebags don't have the balls to go to CAS

The deal here is simple.....we get in front of them this season and look like we’re heading for 55 they will unshelf this and aim to deduct us points to ensure Celtic get 9 in a row!!

It may sound farcical but nothing would surprise me with this shower. I honestly think they are itching and would Even be willing to create civil unrest in order to manipulate their way to 10 in a row!!!

Well if the SFA want to take historical action time to go to war

100% certain.

Be it this or points deduction for our fans singing.

We are looking at a points deduction this season.

Behave ffs. This will come to nothing. The club declared an ongoing dispute with HMRC.

The Scotsman have clearly got a journalist to ask this pointless question so they can write an article/headline that deflects from what's going on at the piggery. That's all it is.

This is the nonsense that they want to take to the CAS spending over £100,000 in legal fees in the process just on the chance that they might be able to dish out a £5000 fine at the end? And they wonder why Scottish football is skint?

No doubt the filth are working away behind the scenes on this as well.

Meanwhile over at the knewcamp someone gets jailed every few months for child abuse. The SFA certainly has it’s priorities right?

So these c.unts won’t let Resolution 12 go and after 8 years they are still wanting Rangers punished

My opinion mate and I won’t be the only one who thinks our club should fight back and the paedo ring and 50 year cover up is the bullet to fire

If you don’t think this is the way to go then you’re entitled to your view

Mine is go for their f.ucking jugular and demand action from the SFA

This is all so that the poets can sue us for ‘lost’ millions. Nothing surer.

Brilliant, I wonder why this has come back round again???

Let's not bother pursuing a child abuse ring that spanned decades.

absolutely laughable. LET THEM TRY !!!!

Absolutely 100%.

We should be going to war anyway without waiting , the mentally challengeds tried to kill us off we should be all over the SFA re their 4 decades of facilitating a child porn ring asking what punishments await Crime scene FC

If they’re going to fire bullets which they have done then we should fire back without any prompting

I may not be 100% on this but my recollection is at the time of application this tax liability was in dispute or under discussion with a resolution to be expected.
I understand there are other clubs who at that time were in the same position with their relevant tax authorities.
Our tax bill may have eventually gone unpaid due to some of Murray's companies including the Rangers holding company going into liquidation.
The crucial point being at the time of the UEFA application the tax bill was not unpaid but under discussion with the authorities so was perfectly ligit.

I’d imagine the crux of this is whether we stated on our application to UEFA that there was a tax matter but it was being disputed. Assuming we did that, I can’t see what case there is to answer

It's weird how it's only the Scotsman that has this article. The sun and the record usually post sh.it about us. And they haven't this time.

Can they take a club to court and not break UEFA’s rules?
I’m sure this was mentioned when Rangers threatened the SFA/SFL or whoever a few years back.
Or is this another one way street?

They can go to the CAS.

However, to do so after such a lengthy period would be effectively a declaration of war on a member club.

Just a pity they don't show similar concern about another club running a child sex ring.

I would sincerely hope that we pulled out of cup competitions, no photo ops, no SFA employees allowed to the club, no players released for International duty and no dealings with them unless legal representation was available. Let them try and sanction the club. We were a victim of a crime by previous incumbents. Shameful again from the association. We will however bend the knee as normal imo.
