Some fantastic players there

Long term legends and short term ones too

The man mountain Boumsong was a terrific signing

I am ashamed to say I never knew that.

I wonder how many other stories there are like that

A quote from the time

According to one source, Alec did seem to have his differences with Celtic, not only having an uncertain relationship with manager Willie Maley but, as a non-Catholic, feeling uncomfortable with the decidedly pro-Catholic ambience prevalent at Celtic Park at that time

Boumsong & FDB in ahead of Butcher??

o_O
A sign of my age and no-more.

Sadly i was post-butcher but he was even so strongly in my considerations. But you should never include a player if you've never seen them in fairness.

The Ronald De Boer signing was fantastic, seemed to come out of nowhere
I might be talking shite here (for a change) but seem to remember being at Ibrox for a game and the rumour was we were signing Hartson.

Then RDB got announced instead - was fucking mind-blowing!

Was only a youngster at the time so might have dreamt that :))

Not sure you can have Kenny Burns in there. He would have been a great player when we needed it in the late 70s early 80s.

A very under rated player for me was Dougie Bell. Skill beyond belief and a wee bit of dig. Not sure why he didnt go into the next level. I know Fergie rated him.
