SNP and the Daily Record have leaked a statement proposed for release on Sunday or Monday, after the celebrations.
Fair play to them.
Saturday saw tens of thousands of Rangers supporters embarking on a victorious march from Ibrox to Glasgow City centre. This was inevitable, although we thought at the time it was not advisable.
However, this parade saw small businesses on the South Side of Glasgow financially benefitting from an unprecedented short term injection of cash, and a reboot of Glasgow's small retail and hospitality industry in general.
Pubs, chip shops, fast food outlets, grocery shops and off licences got a welcome kick start to the recovery of their businesses after Covid.
We would like to thank all Rangers fans for their contribution to the kick start of the economic recovery of Glasgow in particular, and Scotland as a whole.
We thank you all.
