Argh. They’ve used a new taller bottle- too tall for my display! Guess I’ll just have to drink it.

I’m sure I got one for it - the last email for the Founding Fathers went into my junk folder thoughDid they put an email out about the Miltonduff 15 Old Particular bottle?
That's exactly what I've done, certainly looks a great addition to the collection.Arrived this morning, looks a cracking addition to my collection. I added the bottle scarf and think this sets it off a bit also.
Mine also arrived this morning. Got every DL whisky released so far, it's well over 20 now. Just spent a couple of hours sorting through them, still no idea how I've managed to get a doubler!Arrived this morning, looks a cracking addition to my collection. Have you tasted any of those three: the fruity, smoky or sweet ones? Was tempted a few times but they sounded maybe a bit basic. May just have been the marketing for non-whisky geeks. Not sure I’ll bother.
However, like the idea of this displacing the other pish malt range. (Fruity one).
That's the weird world of whisky today. £2.5k is some chunk of change, then you realise it's about the price of a Macallan 25 year old and suddenly 20 bottles of mainly very good juice in Rangers livery starts to look like a bargain. Sure they look belting on display.Mine also arrived this morning. Got every DL whisky released so far, it's well over 20 now. Doing a rough calculation I reckon the cost is around £2.5k to date, no intention of selling as the collection looks tremendous. Have a mate keep asking me to name a price, told him to talk to my daughter when I croak.

As you say the whisky world is very strange. I enjoy collecting the Rangers whiskies, especially knowing the Club receive a few bob.Have you tasted any of those three: the fruity, smoky or sweet ones? You're bang on, Macallan is an interesting case study. I was gifted a 12 yo sherry wood and it was fine, no more than that. Nowadays their core ranges are arguably only decent juice and pricey for what you get. I used to love the original 10 yo when you could find it affordably - but so much of their pricing now is marketing and hype. I guess they sell a lot of the limited editions to overseas markets - eg Asia - but tbh I think Edrington have pushed it too far and may suffer a bit in the coming whisky market correction. I'm already seeing bottles on special offer. That said they're big enough to soak it up. It's some of the smaller producers I worry about. As you say the whisky world is very strange. I find the whole Macallan marketing/design strategy fascinating. Whilst 25/30 year olds understandably cost a pretty penny, they market things like the non aged Folio range, or even the current Time-Space release (£1,000) in limited numbers via ballot that will instantly be flipped for 2-3 times the release price. Not a criticism, just a realisation that everything is worth what someone else is wling to pay.
I agree with every word. Macallan was undoubtedly the best malt and worth that little bit more but when they realised they didn’t have enough stocks and they started releasing unaged Macallan Gold whilst their new stills were built they realised that they could get greedier and greedier. The 12yo sherry barrel now is just ordinary whilst the double wood isn’t even ordinary. It’s simply not Macallan any more. You're bang on, Macallan is an interesting case study. Totally. It's a shame as that 10 yo was bright and sherried in a way that wasn't a sherry bomb but just lovely fruity, woody balance - genuinely worth talking about and not pricey. Wish I'd put a few bottles away. How many times I have said that on my whisky 'journey?'I agree with every word. I’ve never gone further with their recent older expressions as I’m assuming that they are really just for collecting not drinking - a bit like Rangers whisky!
Just had an email with this one, note that RTV10 code is still working.
I thought the Old Particular line was marketed as a trilogy release and we’ve already had three before this one have we not?
I mean I’ll buy it anyway as I’m a total mug, but it does seem a bit off.
Yeah it was, this was released after and wasn't marketed as part of the trilogy, it's more limited than the others were (201 bottles) - like you, I bought it anyway.I thought the Old Particular line was marketed as a trilogy release and we’ve already had three before this one have we not?

The Miltonduff is the uber staunch orange label edition!
Just a heads up if of interest to anyone. A few of the bottles are currently reduced in price, including the Loving Cup 26yo Blair Atholl reduced from £500 to £400 - not cheap I know, but might make a few of the other bottles more appealing in the run up to Christmas.

Certainly is, don't imagine they were shifting many at £500. Not convinced there will be a lot more takers at £400.400 notes for a 26 year old whisky is still mega steep imho.
Probably disabled the discount codes when they have the sale on.Found it

5 stars are punting a 125 Ibrox gin, only 50 notes hahaI’m very surprised they’ve not fired out a 125 years at Ibrox bottle for £125 - maybe drop it on us after Black Friday in time for Christmas
The Bunnahabhain 30yo (150th Anniversay) is one of the ones in the velvet box, the other being the Loving Cup Blair Atholl 26yo.I need to go through this - I’ve rationalised a chunk of them from the collection on the basis they’re largely dross. (Trilogy set for example).
One I’m worried I don’t have on that list is the Bunna.
I’m sure I do, but not sure it jumps out at me.
The Bunnahabhain was selling initially for £800, you would know if that one was missing from your collection.I need to go through this - I’ve rationalised a chunk of them from the collection on the basis they’re largely dross. (Trilogy set for example).

Very nice !
Releasing 4 at the same time is unusual, I suppose with Christmas looming it's the ideal time go get new products launched. Makes a fair dent in the finances if ordering all 4 mind you.4 new bottles released to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Ibrox.
Rangers Benrinnes 8 Year Old - £70
Rangers Dailuaine 8 Year Old - £80
Rangers Glen Garioch 9 Year Old - £70
Rangers Dailuaine 12 Year Old - £85
I know nobody is forcing anyone to buy but this is taking the piss !
I read that in the dialect of old fashioned cowboyI get the Christmas angle and they're some real purdy looking bottles - but as for buying all four, that's one for the completists only. Forking out over £300 to end up with mainly sub-ten-year-old juice and not from superstar distilleries is really working the Rangers angle. Do quite like any Benrinnes and Glen Garioch I've tried, though, if Santa's checking his FF account. Also, Glen Garioch is a lovely wee Victorian distillery well worth a visit.
Any codes working!!! Definitely a piss take but I’ll be buying them.4 new bottles released to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Ibrox.

Not for me, I think discount codes have been disabled due to their Black Friday sale.Any codes working!!! Definitely a piss take but I’ll be buying them.
Doesn’t seem to be much thought for the images used - for 125 years of Ibrox they are grouped closely together
I have a few doublers which I will drink eventually - King of Scots, Founding Fathers, Caol Ila Old Particular and the Ardmore. Also have just topped up with more 2023 trilogy series which I will get stuck into when we win the League Cup.Anyone tried them on yet or just predominantly people buying to keep/display?

The price-to-juice ratio at a time when whisky seems to in the start of a recession does seem to be pushing it. Guessing it's the Xmas market they're aiming for, but DL want to be careful not to scunner us punters. The current whisky boom is well and truly over but, tbh, it's still nice to see these eye-catching Rangers bottlings come out, albeit at inflated prices. The prices they are charging for some of these ages are an absolute piss take.
I dare say most of us on this thread that do like and enjoy whisky could purchase these, but at the same time because we do like and enjoy whisky we know when we are being ripped off.
The one's you listed are probably only inflated because of the pictures on them.
400 notes for the Blair Atholl and 100 for the Miltonduff 15 year old is also a piss take.
