Rangers fans have hit out after paying to feature in a stalled project to mark the club’s historic 55th league title.

Surprised we've not singing a song about this.
My face is not on the wall, my face is not on the wall, I wanted it so high so it shines so bright it lights up Champions wall. There's millions want to see it, theyll gaze in awe and wonder, if ill ever pay my loans back at all.

I hate moaning about Rangers but I got an email last week apologising for the delay in my brick being installed. I had actually forgotten all about it as it was for my son.

An hour later I got another email saying apologies for the email your brick has been installed. I have no recollection of being informed the brick was there.
I’m also awaiting a brick haven’t heard a peep on that front. Paid extra for the bigger one as well.

I dont really have a problem with the concept of the wall. The end product though is pretty pathetic. It's an odd addition to the stadium footprint.
Ours looks like a temporary version before the real thing is built compared to the one at Anfield.

The original email promised:

Rangers are delighted to unveil The Rangers Champions Wall – a landmark installation next to Ibrox Stadium that will allow supporters to share their memories and photographs in a unique photomosaic that will proudly display a selection of our most famous legends and moments.

The centre of the mosaic will capture Steven Gerrard lifting the trophy for our historic and coveted 55th league title. This iconic image will be joined by eight other champions from our glorious history such as greatest ever Ranger John Greig and our 9IAR Captain Richard Gough.

The Rangers Champions Wall gives supporters the opportunity to be part of this design through photomosaic technology. A photomosaic is a big picture made up of thousands of small pictures and this unique opportunity will mean that supporters from all over the world can be part of this permanent installation. Supporters can also buy a memento of the display that includes their personal photo which makes a place on The Rangers Champions Wall the perfect gift.

Profits from the Rangers Champions Wall will be reinvested in the wider Ibrox footprint to assist in the club’s plans to truly enhance our historic stadium and the matchday experience.

That’s how ours SHOULD look. Unfortunately if you compare anfields 96 tribute its different class as well.

Is it not shoved in the corner of a disused car park as well, next to the fucking Black Rooster piri piri chicken van? The whole outside of the stadium and it's surroundings just looks so neglected.
Yes, it's terrible! I got a picture of my sisters partner put on the Wall who sadly passed away shortly before we won 55, he was a massive bluenose.

Any time my dad and I pop round to see him before a match, we can't believe there is still only one panel done and it's tucked away behind a food van and if it's been raining the area in front of it has a massive puddle that you have to stand in if you are looking for a particular photo on it.

Pretty shitty effort, it should be over near Edmiston House imo.

Waiting on two pictures to be put up. Emailed a few times and didn't get a reply.
I got tired of waiting a requested a refund.

It took a few emails back and forth before I got my money back but it is possible. Just an FYI in case you run out of patience too.

If they would offer some kind of timeframe you could maybe bear with them but they never did and I put my photos in two years ago.

I'm sure the company contracted to build this wall were suing Rangers for £1m due to breach of contract.

I found that quote at the end of the article quite sad, not sure why OP cut that bit out.

For me that part really emphasises the importance of the club meeting its commitments to supporters. It's more than just a money thing. This stuff can mean a lot to people.

“The picture I sent in was of my last visit to Ibrox with my father and my son before my dad passed away.

“I had told my boy that the photo of us all together would be up on the wall soon and we were both excited to see it up there. Every game we went to, my son would ask if it was up yet, and it was painful to tell him again and again that we'd have to wait a while longer. He has stopped asking now.

“I hope the club realise that their empty promises have caused real hurt to good Rangers supporting families like mine.”

The whole thing was a bit of a nonsense to begin with but it’s another example of even the simplest of things falling down at the club and fans being treated badly. File it with the ill fated memorial garden of daft ideals they’ve given us.

As for the which board stuff, people do realise the new executive appointments still report to the very same PLC Board that’s been in place for years and made a complete pigs ear of it.

He had people below him that would offer suggestions, and he would okay them as and when it suited.
If you think about it it was not a difficult task. We were coming from having no real merchandise setup compared to the past. So what does Bisgrove and his team do on day 1. Sheet of paper out and start the list of things that many other clubs had already done.
New kit deal / Supplier of clothing etc.
Club Shop
Club Membership Scheme
Champions Wall
Blue Sky Lounge
Redo the old Rangers Social club and make money there
Etc.
Good things to do but get them right.
Thing is you have to complete on your offerings when it comes to fans emotional ties to the club or you really piss them off.

Thats a real shame.

I am 1 of the few that got in the 1st batch. I have a deceased relative on the wall and it feels horrible when I actually think of it that way.

That was the memorial garden which was to be located beside it. I'm sure it was 2 separate projects/companies

Got an email from the club the other day on a similar topic. I was gifted a brick for my 40th back in Oct 23 which is still not up yet and club are now saying March due to ‘supply issues’. Supply issues for bricks, wow….
It’s embarrasing how our great club has been run since 55, anything they touch is half arsed, miles late and underwhelming when finally delivered!

As the site no longer exists (supplier gone bust!?), I bet there's no record of the photos submitted by those of us still waiting.

They can't even be arsed properly filling in the numerous potholes dotted around the footprint of the stadium, so it doesn't surprise me this project has, like almost all of these similar things, been implemented shockingly and not actually completed. It's as if they think we'll just forget about it and they can move on to their next grand money making scheme, dreamed up by whoever the current commercial brainiac in charge is.

This project, still not finishing the Copland Rear work, the supposed new sports bar. We really are taken for mugs a lot of the time.

Yeah I never realised I had missed it out. The Evening Times article was full of ads and pop ups.

I think the simple explanation was that they just didn't get enough take up of the wall to come close to filling it, and they are stuck with it being half done, and unlikely to see much on the way of subscription while we are so far behind on the park.

My photo of me and my daughter went up in the first batch, and I really got a kick out of seeing it, despite the bizarre placement of the wall. I assumed it would go up somewhere around Edmiston House or the side of the Copland.

Bisgrove had some very, very favourable events to make the most of during his tenure - 55, The 150th Anniversary and reaching a European final. It was his remit to exploit them on whatever was he could bring on revenue for the club. I don't have a problem with that, but this one doesn't seem to have been executed very well.

I purchased Aug 2022.

Same. Purchased two in Aug 2022. Still not been put up. Emails are ignored.
I would push for the refund pal, it's disgraceful the club have seen fit to hold onto your money that long without providing what you paid for.

It's not right.

Nothing about our club surprises me now.
We really are top of the Champions League when it comes to fecking things up.
