I’d always have us playing against a shite team just to get the goals in and get the strikers feeling confident.Genuine question, do we have a friendly or two arranged vs some cannon fodder? Pre season has been a shambles for a few years now where we've played teams and been a disjointed mess throughout. We did used to do this and get some attacking practice in and some shooting practice

We've done it plenty of times over the years of BCD games over 2 days. Just a mix of rotating the squads or only 40/45 mins per game depending how long the games are.Talk of a BCD game against TNS at Auchenhowie today. Strange, if true, as they played Ayr United yesterday. We do play them fairly often in pre-season though.
Heard the same .Talk of a BCD game against TNS at Auchenhowie today. Strange, if true, as they played Ayr United yesterday. We do play them fairly often in pre-season though.
Lost 1-0 to TNS at RTC.
Tav Kelly and Propper all played. Not sure who else was in the team.
Anyone remember who the manager was when we drew with them and got beat off St J 1-0? Might of been CaixinhaLost 1-0 to TNS at RTC.

I know it’s a friendly but, that’s very poor. Especially with the eleven that playedLost 1-0 to TNS at RTC.

Yes we do. We lost 1-0...Genuine question, do we have a friendly or two arranged vs some cannon fodder?
Assume it's also taking into account 2 more qualifying rounds this year. But does still feel very light. Is there any other team of our size that is only playing public 2 pre season games . Seems very odd.
Correct, hopefully nobody is attempting to blame Martin for this because it’s an eleven of players we all know consistently fail time and time again.Yeah, we can be spared the "friendlies dont count" spiel too.
Too often they've been a marker for how awful we look at the stsrt of a season.
While beating Real didn't mean we'd suddenly win the Euro Cup, there can be a lot taken from continually defeats to crap in preseason.
We need players in sharpish to freshen things.
The preseason we beat Real Madrid, we also lost to Tranmere Rovers a couple of weeks prior.Yeah, we can be spared the "friendlies dont count" spiel too.

I'll be more concerned if we're still losing the friendlies at the end of preseason with a stronger starting 11 and some new signings playing. Alarm bells rang loudly under Beale that preseason and those fears rang true in the end.
Today's starting 11 didn't feature a single player I'd expect to start away to St Mirren on the opening day of the season, so no concerns from me on that front.
Ah yes of course, it's Motherwell away first, not St Mirren.I think there's a decent chance Tav, Jefte, Rice and Danilo will be among the starters in early games (Motherwell away first as an aside), but we'll see.
I think you're right to say that pre-season friendly results should be looked at as a collective rather than individually. Even then, it's hard to take much from it.
Hmm that's a decent list for them.Might be posted elsewhere, if it is I apologize, Panathinaikos play four friendlies before they play us - Metalist 1925 ( Jul 2nd), Schalke ( Jul 9th), Braga ( July 12th) and Westerlo ( July 16th). They had a fifth against Nordsjaelland scheduled for July 5th but that’s been cancelled.
Now that’s a proper pre season.Might be posted elsewhere, if it is I apologize, Panathinaikos play four friendlies before they play us - Metalist 1925 ( Jul 2nd), Schalke ( Jul 9th), Braga ( July 12th) and Westerlo ( July 16th). Well we played TNS the other day so that makes 3 games. There's not another team in British football that only has 2 pre season friendlies
We will have another when we're at St georges Park I would imagine aswell.Well we played TNS the other day so that makes 3 games.
That’s barely a step up from a bounce game training. We don’t lose 1-0 if that’s in front of fans!Well we played TNS the other day so that makes 3 games.
Nordsjaelland that game isn't cancelled - also according to Danes it is 3 x 40mins on SaturdayMight be posted elsewhere, if it is I apologize, Panathinaikos play four friendlies before they play us - Metalist 1925 ( Jul 2nd), Schalke ( Jul 9th), Braga ( July 12th) and Westerlo ( July 16th). Monday I believe. When are we at St George's park again?
Until friday?Monday I believe.
No idea just heard we go there the day after the Brugge game.Until friday?
Sounds like the Louden Bar, lolTickets should be about £2 with a free pie thrown in.
It always is. It would be a surprise if it wasn’t.It’s no surprise our preseason is a shambles.
Any news on more games while we're down there? You'd like to think we'll get more than bounce games between squad or some U21 side.
(Not a plea for an away day)
Assuming we've got another one at the training ground before the first qualifier going by his comments in the press conference.
Sheffield Wednesday just posted that they’ll be at St George’s Park at the same time as us, I expect that will be the behind closed doors game.
Think East Midlands is closest.I assume the squad will fly to Birmingham to get to St George's?
Ideal opposition...Sheffield Wednesday just posted that they’ll be at St George’s Park at the same time as us, I expect that will be the behind closed doors game.
Can even pinch any players who look good considering they're not being paid.Ideal opposition...
