Paying a six figure amount for a lad that can not yet sign a professional contract and leave for any club he wants when he reaches 16 seems a gamble to far to me. I would hazard a guess we will wait till he reaches 16 then sign him on pro-forms but I could easily be wrong.

I’m sure you are required to pay X amount of compensation when signing someone from another academy at u16, but I don’t think it’s anywhere near 6 figures.
