Scott Brown was delighted to be visited by Derek Johnstone and Mark Hateley

Rangers legend Mark Hateley will ensure a tragic Craigneuk man gets the send-off he deserves.
The ex-Gers striker is set to give a short eulogy at the funeral of Scott Brown after meeting him at University Hospital Wishaw.
Mark went along to meet the 24-year-old with footy pal Derek Johnstone after Rangers fan Scott was too poorly to travel to Ibrox to meet the players and tour the stadium.
Scott’s mum Debbie said: “We knew Scott was very sick and that he was going to pass away, but we didn’t realise it was going to be so soon.
"He had come to terms with what was going to happen, but he didn’t want to go.

Popular Scott Brown passed away on Saturday
“There was things he wanted to do, unfortunately he wasn’t able to.

“He wanted to go to Ibrox and meet the players. We had it all arranged but he was too sick to travel.
“Thankfully we managed to arrange for the Rangers legends to come to the hospital to meet him. He was chuffed to bits.
“The plan is I’ve to tell Mark the details of Scott’s funeral and he said he will come along and give a short eulogy.”

Scott passed away at Wishaw’s hospital last Saturday due to renal failure after suffering for many years.
The former Dalziel High pupil was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was nine years old.
Debbie added: “As well as having diabetes, Scott was also diagnosed with ADHD. He wasn’t able to take certain medications because they interfered with each other. Not having the ADHD under control made it very difficult for Scott to come to terms with his diabetes. He hated being a diabetic and really struggled to deal with it.
“He was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver when he was 13 and then he took a very bad hypo when he was 15 which left him with very serious problems. Things never really got better for him after that. Some days he was sick 30 times a day. He was really poorly.”
Scott and his family were told last November that his condition was terminal.

Since receiving the devastating diagnosis, Scott, with the help of his mum, had started to plan his own funeral.
Debbie added: “Scott made big plans for his funeral. He told me what music to play, a few songs that definitely match his cheeky personality, and what he wanted to wear.
“He really was one of a kind. Everyone who met him took to him straight away. He was so likeable and loving and a bit cheeky.
“He was always putting others before himself. Despite being so unwell, he would still help the other patients in the hospital.
“He would go to the shops to get them their papers every morning.
“He knew the staff at Wishaw hospital on first name terms. Everyone had so much time for him.”
Family friend Heather Fairley has set up a Gofundme page to help pay for Scott’s funeral and give him the send-off he deserves.
Debbie said because she hadn’t set up a funeral plan sooner for Scott, she is unable to get any help towards the costs.
