STEVEN Gerrard has made a £5,000 donation to a local Govan charity to help them feed vulnerable members of the community as the coronavirus crisis hits.
The award went to the Govan Youth Information Project, with the cash coming from the Ibrox manager's own Steven Gerrard Foundation and passed on via Rangers own charity foundation.
The cash will fund the charity for three weeks, ensuring that they can hand out badly-needed food packages to people in the local area.
In operation since 1994, the GYIP calls itself a "non-profit organisation with the aim of delivering empowering and meaningful youth work to all children and young people within the Glasgow Govan area".
They said: "We are extremely grateful to the @RFC_Charity & @SGF08 for their most generous donation of £5000 towards the cost of providing lunches for young people & the wider community during this uncertain time."
The news came after the Ibrox side said that they were ready and willing to help the NHS in their battle against COVID-19 in any way possible.
