Seems to have took lessons and learned from his mistakes.
Wtf? Just what this thread needs.I wonder if the deal agreed upfront has any contingency clauses based on us winning the europa league. You would expect it has all eventualities covered but I wouldn’t out anything past this club.
Would be the most rangers thing ever for us to win the Europa league and scupper a potential takeover because the existing board get a chunk of guaranteed uefa cash and move the goal posts.
It’s not only nature that abhors a vacuum, so does the internet.Enough about Managers etc. get the thread back on topic or it’s getting locked.
Sorry, what? How would Kompany have done if he toon over, say, Dortmunf though?
It's totally different challenge we face.
Being refereed differently is a massive issue as well. I’d like someone to come in and be strong enough to call that out. I’m not sure Martin or any foreigner without playing in Scotland would be able to do that.
Wtf? Just what this thread needs.
Yeah I’d be absolutely astonished if we are at this stage and there’s still the ability for our current owners to suddenly pull the rug out and demand more cash.Seriously mate I’m 99% sure they will have had a price based on XYZ agreed already including outlandish stuff like we win the Europa or Domestic title.
But put it this way I’m certain the professional competence is bolstered by the other side of the deal.
The cheating and corruption wasn’t anywhere near as bad or as blatant than it is now though. We had Walter in charge and people were still complaining about calling out refs. The fans will never get what they want in this regard.
Leverkusen won the league last season, Bayern were second, but Bayern under Kompany will win it this season. How would Kompany have done if he toon over, say, Dortmunf though?

The point you are painting is while clubs are in transition then the managers are vulnerable to being blamed and ditched .There's several managers I'd prefer than Russell Martin, including Muscat, Schmidt, Nancy.
But dismissing him because Southampton were terrible this season is a bit short-sighted. They did nowhere near enough recruitment to survive the EPL this season and all three promoted teams are going to be relegated, just like last year, the jump is huge now. Vincent Kompany took Burnley down last season with a record low tally of points, they were a shambles, but Bayern obviously saw something in him and look at him now, top of the Bundesliga and in the Champions League QFs. I don't think Kieran McKenna is a terrible manager either, all the top clubs wanted him last year but he's about to get relegated too.

^ this is imo the crux .the idea is surely to eventually qualify for the CL and to actually compete in it
that's where the money and return on their investment will come from
russell martin isn't going to get us into the CL
can't believe that we're actually considering it (if true)
Tbh I don’t either of them are the major issues they are here under the new salary regime and have value to the team . Not yet banger signings but valuable .The budget we are going to have on players everybit as important.i would love for us to spend about 30 million and in the process clearing out guys like bajrami and propper. Will we spend that much who knows
What about his European record though mate .Martin is nothing like Postecoglu in style. I want a manager who plays a style like Postecoglu did as it made mincemeat of the league but Martin is miles away from being that man.
Sorry, what?
Aberdeen manager on listR
Marco Rose on that list, interests me alot more than Martin
Stuttgart were second ..Leverkusen won the league last season, Bayern were second, but Bayern under Kompany will win it this season.
We're second this season...
Not totally different at all.
Last summer if we had appointed Kompany, what would people be saying? He also had a set way of playing that never changed no matter the opponent, and his Burnley team routinely got turned over, and they got relegated with one of the lowest ever points tally. Would we have been delighted to appoint Kompany? Would we now?

We can’t survive with poor results like those
An attacking style is what is needed up hereMaybe but only if they feel Leeds and Rangers are similar, I don’t. Completely different stages of the journey, completely different challenges. Farke got Norwich out of the Championship and they’ve trusted him to do the same with Leeds, doubt they care too much about the style and will just reciprocate the style and expect it to work in Scotland
It shouldn’t be too much to ask for that we are able to adapt style between domestic and European games. It’s good management/coaching to be able to do so.What about his European record though mate .

The manager who said his FIFA coaching badge didn’t teach him about dealing with the problems St Mirren have
Call the @Special One' He will call them outWe had Walter in charge and people were still complaining about calling out refs. The fans will never get what they want in this regard.
He requires a Brain Surgeon that does homers.
No we need a manager who will win our league as number 1 priority. We've been good in Europe under multiple managers.^ this is imo the crux .
Any manager who comes in and doesn’t achieve in EL / CL is likely to be termed a failure very very quickly .
We need a manager and team who have these skill sets over all else .
Given it’s been going on since October I doubt it, also it’s not only the board that’s selling their shares. Doing something extraordinary like winning the Europa League will have no bearing on the deal.I wonder if the deal agreed upfront has any contingency clauses based on us winning the europa league. You would expect it has all eventualities covered but I wouldn’t out anything past this club.

Sounds like you have a few name’s in mind there AotL .It shouldn’t be too much to ask for that we are able to adapt style between domestic and European games. It’s good management/coaching to be able to do so.
I say that knowing that not call coaches are willing to do that, but I don’t get why so many of them refuse to do so and find it difficult.
Disagree . Even if they won the title , let’s say eg Collum Clancy Walsh all get killed in a hit on the sfa , they also need to play qualifiers now .No we need a manager who will win our league as number 1 priority. We've been good in Europe under multiple managers.
You can see the angle here tho top6 with StM and compete with Oaf in matches despite having a tiny proportion of the funds .
One of the reasons Brenda wants away of course any half decent team will put them out at 1st attemptDisagree . Even if they won the title , let’s say eg Collum Clancy Walsh all get killed in a hit on the sfa , they also need to play qualifiers now .
