Rangers Tattoos

Totally agree mate, very dated amateurish style compared to some of today’s pieces.

It's a literal re-work of his dad's flash from the 1970s/80s. If you click onto his Insta page you can swipe along and see the original. It's meant to look like it came from that time period.
I've got 6 tattoos from Steven, ranging from Japanese sleeves and traditional flash. He's anything but amateur and is highly regarded throughout the industry.
Top guy and Rangers fan too!

Got Rangers crest an Till I Die under it on my back, the guy who did it unbeknown to me was a tic fan he stuck the needle in further when my phone went and the tune was FOLLOW FOLLOW lol

Well that fills me with absolute dread as I'm booked in for a 4-6 hour tattoo appointment.

The longest I've sat was about 4 hours, getting a piece on my chest/sternum. It certainly wasn't comfortable, but I wouldn't say that the beginning was any easier than the end.

I'm getting a decent sized one tomorrow on my back.

First tattoo.. beginning to shit myself haha.

I thought my first couple of tattoos were fine and didn't really feel anything then booked in for a large back piece. Not to worry you or anything but my upper back one was pretty fcking uncomfortable:))

I'll be getting one of Steven Wrigley's Rangers designs once I get my finger out.

For those dismissing these designs, they are cracking examples of Tradition Style tattoos, and a style that is very much in demand. They are not my cup of tea, I prefer Neo-Traditional, however to say they are less worthy than flashier tattoos is way off the mark.

You get what you like, not what you think others will like.

Reminds me of the Friday night vow back in the Eighties, when we'd promise to meet the next morning at Terry's on the Gallowgate to get a Rangers tattoo. Needless to say we never did, and judging by those (I realise they're not by Terry, but his style), thank feck none of us did!

It took another 40 years for me to bite the bullet and get an 1880's style crest done.

The actual tattoos if you swipe across are Terry's

Ooooft!

Are the bottom two lines not in the wrong order?
I have that as wall art but mines is..

Bluenoses are born not manufactured

We do no choose we are chosen

Those who understand need no explanation.

Those who don't understand don't matter.

We Are The People

I really hope yours is the right way as i can bin mine and get another for 12 quid from ebay.
I’ve seen other “blue noses” using that text. I mean Everton, Chelsea and a few others.

I really like that though and refelects how I feel about being a Rangers fan.

Few years ago had the idea of having text paraphrased over an RFC crest.

I was instead of we are. Then the wife said, “why not try simply, born not manufactured” and I never revisited it. Got me thinking now mate.

They won't think you're being an ignorant twat then?

I struggle to get past the "You been busy?.....What time you on till?" with taxi drivers so several hours of small talk with a stranger would seem like the stuff of nightmares for me.
I think they know when you’re there for so long there’s only so much chit chat you can make tbh

Union flag with Rangers Forever underneath for me.
Got it done with the original Terry in the gallowgate in 1977, it’s looking it’s age!!

Ach it’s fine, my first sitting was a full sleeve 6 hours and a bit - it got painful at the end but scooped 2 pints in about 2 minutes and I was fine, totally covered now

I’d say if you’re doing it get as much money together as you can, and go to the best possible tattooist you can who specialises in the kind of design you are interested in.

This is as good advice as you’ll get. Got a monstrosity on my collarbone I got done in someone’s garage for 40 quid when I was 16.

Cheap tattoos aren’t good and good tattoos aren’t cheap.

RFC crest on my chest at 17, 30 years ago, RFC badge on my shoulder blade with Rangers Till I Die underneath. Been meaning to get both redone.
On a mad weekend to Blackpool when I was 19 & got FTP on 1 wrist & BotB 1690 on the other:oops::eek::D:)) now covered up with sleeves.
Not much space left but have kept room for an Ibrox gates tattoo for any future grandkids :)

Thats a good idea mate amd its original, as in your idea. What colours would you choose?
Was thinking keep the star the blue, lion either black or red. Not sure yet

kind of marries the past and the future imo

I would keep the star the same colors as the original with faint shading. And make the lion red
I think it’s a brilliant idea.
I’d like to see what you decide on and when it’s done

Have a few Rangers tattoos but due to my previous job I had them done on my legs & back. Have plenty others but now semi retired I had a lest we forget RAF, army poppy one done on lower left arm.
That lot hate these type and had a few disgruntled looks.
Enjoy ur pain op:))

I've got a pretty shit rfc crest that I got done more than half a life ago on Gorgie Rd. I'm strangely attached to it but at some point will get a union flag and St Andrew's Cross around it. Like I say, it's not great but I got it just after Davie Cooper died so it has a lot of sentimental value.

Some monstrosities in here...
People wanting tattoos should really just go to the best tattoo artist and stay away from football tattoos

Yet to see a single football related tattoo from any team that isn’t tacky as %^*&.

Anyone who’s into the old school style should stay away from Terry’s boy, he’s shite at them. Italian boy in black cobra is the best around for them

Got the RFC crest on one arm and a Union flag with Glasgow Rangers on the other, got both around 20 years ago and safe to say they have aged terribly and now look horrendous.

I like the old school tats.
Sort of “sailor jerry” style.
It is in demand atm.
