Match Thread **Rangers v Celtic - Match Thread - Sky Sports**

Would the police allow us to put them in the corner like everyone else if it was seriously proposed by the club?
Put them in BF1 if they can't go in the corner. You can put tarpaulin down and line of stewards. I can't see how plod could object to that. They would still enter and exit the way they do just now. Any Rangers fans going into the Broomloan have to enter by walking round by the Sandy Jardine stand.

Do you want him to pull money out of his arse?

He's had the cheque book out, you need to engage your brain and come back to reality. We can't compete with their financial power, in fact we can't even come close at the moment. There's no easy fix
So the alternative is to accept our mediocre lot i life and watch the the poets stroll to 10IAR?

We are cut adrift of the Sheep again with no visible signs of progress. The head in the sand Loyal don't want to hear it.

I noticed a high ranking cop having words with thumb at full time he was obviously being reminded not to do any antics and he wasnrt happy.

I'm not a Pedro fan, but I felt he showed he had learned from last time today and we did compete better. We get the penalty we should have got them you never know how the game goes.

Today isn't the problem, if for example we beat the likes of Thistle and Hearts he gap would be halved. That's what we need to cut out we must start beating the rest and look to claw the gap back with them with a few more in come January.

Positives today for me we're McCrorie, Jack, Windass done okay and Morelos.

I said last week the performance was key for me today as whether Pedro should continue and I think he's bought himself some time.

Right now this game is still too far out for our benchmark. Ours is to outrun Aberdeen. As it stands we might end up 7 th in the league after today. Results against hearts Patrick and hibs worry me much more in this stage of recovery. Pedro Needs to win a few on the bounce now otherwise serious questions do deserve to be asked.

We had 1 shot on target in 90 minutes at home.

Ross County, Hamilton and St Johnstone (their last 3 games) had 5, 4 and 3 respectively.

There was a very, very slight improvement.

I think penalty decision aside, we got a bit lucky in first half. They cut us open on a number of ocassions.

Miles and miles off it but that's not really a surprise at the moment, we may have spent a lot of money in the summer but it was hardly spent wisely in some cases.

McCrorie's first 45 a big positive, well done to him. Apart from that it's hard to take much from playing side.

Off the field, I'm fucking sick of the fact that their players and fans get to do as they please at our ground. Complete and utter contempt shown. Police and our board are a fucking disgrace as far as that goes, that circus that's allowed to go on at the end is a joke, as is thumbheid and lego eater not even being spoken to for leaving field and goading our support.

Playing side most important side of it but need to stop being such soft touches from top to bottom.

Tell me the alternative

Go on, tell us where King gets the money and how we can splash the millions needed to close the gap.

I'm ready to hear it....

Ok where are they? We need people to match the annual CL windfall they get and give us enough cash to immediately build a squad that matches theirs. Let me know when you find such fictitious characters

Wealthy Rangers fans do exist there just not interested, Jim McColl, Tom Hunter and the Parks to name a few

We have little option other than accepting it. Money can't magically appear just because we want it to.

He hasn't put his hand in his pocket once. Any funds come from ST money and money generated by the club.

Disappointed that n the result and performance overall, but much better first half and we were a match for them until second period.

We didn’t start second half well, as usual, and then once they got the scrappy opener it was always going to be difficult for us.

Happy with McCrorie on his first start.

Pena was posted missing.

Windass was good in first 45 I thought, but fell away in second half like a few others.

Pedro deserves more time IMO. If we had been embarrassed again with a cricket score then I wouldn’t be surprised if he was fired, but we are closer and, like someone said above, can’t keep chopping and changing managers. We have invested time and money in getting Pedro here and giving him money to bring in his own players.

What is important is how we react from now on. I want to see progression and that we are able to beat the “diddy teams”. I don’t think Pedro’s fate will ultimately be decided based on games against Celtic. If we can’t consistently dominate and win against the Ross County’s, Partick’s and Motherwell’s those results will be what costs him his job.

The referee does his job properly and we’re in all likelihood 1-0 at half time, with three of their players on yellows. The game is significantly different.

If you want to ignore that in order to have a go at the manager, then knock yourself out.
There's no arguing with that.

What he could do is allow stadium sponsorship or accept investment from someone by releasing some control.

Last thought. The main worry after today. They didn't need to play that well to canter it.

Agree with all of that only counter is that I think they didn't have to play that well to win. Can we be better? Because I think they can.

That's the worry for me not one of their top players got out of second gear and they still won in a relative canter at the end

I'm going for a kip. Some amount of roasters on here. Scum had it the first 10. next 15 was even. we were on top going into the final 20 of the first half then the charlatan in black decides to bring us down by booking our biggest goal threat. we were without: Wallace, Alves, DJ, Niko, Rossiter, Wilson, and but for the play of the green in the closing of the first half, we could have went in 1-0 at least. Young McCrorie had a great game. The only problem I have with the manager today was that Pena shouldn't have came out for the second half. total passenger the whole game. People calling for Pedro's sacking need to have a look at themselves. Do we turn into one of those shambles of a club in the championship, changing managers every season?
Totally agree. If we get rid of Pedro right now who do we get in and for how long? I'd hate to see us in a situation like Brady, Mowbray, Macari or Barnes.
I'm not one for ref conspiracies but his decision to book Morelos was, shall we say, odd
McCrorie...a display that was above other false dawns like Jamie Ness. Seems to be a player that might be a catalyst to better things.
A disappointing day though. Still, we're one day closer to 55.

I agree. I actually felt there were signs of progression today. I would still question a couple of Pedro's decisions but overall it wasn't as bad as expected (though I probably had a very low bar of anticipation over today).

[QUOTEson goes on="Bluenose1979, post: 148513, member: 589"]I felt pretty embarrassed by that today.[/QUOTE]

I'm not. We lost because they are better, accept that. Positives are we fought a fight, yes we lost but we tried. We'll improve as the season goes on.
This is work in progress.stick with the program

Where do we go from here? For me at least we give caixinha the season, I dont think the poets where ever in control of that game until 2-0, a bit of luck (even pre game) and I think we'd be taking at least a share of the points today.

That is the most enthusiastic post I've ever seen on here

Well said Pedro in the post match.

Highlighting for the second game running at Ibrox that lady's front bottom Brown has elbowed someone off the ball.

Pedro gets it which is why we need to stick with him. He needs both financial and fan backing.

We lack quality that's obvious, We also seem to be missing players with a winning mentality and heart, We are just so soft, Mind you if we got in about the Celtic players there would have been yellows and reds dished out a plenty

Celtic are miles ahead of us and I don't see us catching them anytime soon which is more disappointing than today's results, Caixinha gets it and I love his passion but its going to come down to The Board finding more money for players, As much as I'd love to get Walker and McLean on Free's in the Summer I think we need reinforcements in January, We also need players who will show the Celtic team zero respect

Only positive today was McRorie and the fact the new FollowFollow board hasn't collapsed today, been functioning well all day

Piss poor 2nd half. As soon as we opened up to press for the equalizer and didn't get it, it gave Celtic a pass to do what they wanted. We can feel hard done by, a definite penalty in the first half not given and countless pish decisions, but the morale of the story is we're still a good few players away from competing with them.

A few mentions, can't be arsed going through everyone;

Honestly, I'm not so sure on Pena. I'm willing to give him more game time to see what he can become but even against Partick midweek he gave the ball away too often for my liking, doesn't like to run with the ball and doesn't look to have any real strength/burst to get in behind the back line. The transfer fee seems like a bad one at the moment, as I said though I'll give this one time. I'm doubtful as it stands. I'd probably not be too bothered if we got him on a free or a few hundred thousand but the fee seems ridiculously bad business so far.

Jack put in a decent shift, couldn't really have asked for too much more of him given how under pressure we were. I feel him and Dorrans done decently well to stop them creating anything through the middle, we were punished down the wings way more often.

Hodson, we need to get rid. He's not good enough to be a backup for us unfortunately, not athletic enough and not enough of a football IQ to get himself out of sticky situations. Just simply not good enough.

Morelos had a bad game today, just couldn't keep himself onside to save himself and it resulted in broken down attack after broken down attack. He battled on to the end and can count himself unlucky not to have scored after a great save by Gordon. Has a big future with us if we can keep him.

Wes had a nightmare, I hope we don't see this from him in the big games. He does not want to slip up to Jak Alnwick who impressed midweek. He needs to be better under pressure. Not good enough today.

McCrorie. Great debut from him threw straight into the deep end. Well done to him and hopefully he can be a star for us. Will find it hard to get opportunities this season though if Cardoso and Alves stay fit. Cardoso had a shocker of a second half and still has developing to do. Can be caught out of position all too easily.

It's clear we need to invest another £10-15 million in the squad.

We've got a fairly good foundation to build on. To improve the team it's going to take multiple transfer windows with strong investment in each of those windows. Merchandise revenue will play a key in filling that funding.

Thought we did ok first half after Tav and Candeias sorted themselves out. Tav as usual getting caught out with the ball in behind. Was Alfredo brought down? Looked a.pen to me but I was miles away. Pena and Windass were poor and Hodson isn't good enough. Worst thing for me is we still aren't physical enough. Dorrans a particular disappointment in that respect. Thompson is a complete cheat.

The beast support lived up to their reputation. Filthy animals. At full time the NED Celtic players, all of them, were in the penalty box in front of scummy hoards polluting the Broomloan. Unbelievably Celtic NED players were celebrating like they won a trophy. Brown had his shirt off and Police and security staff had to man both goal posts, presumably to prevent thumb tying a scarf on one, and to keep beast players at the penalty spot away from their scum ridden support.

Celtic supporters, during the match, had invaded the pitch, threw a flare on the pitch, held up play at every opportunity by stealing the match ball and returning it after play was restarted with a new ball. I'm pretty sure I saw one beast being escorted out the ground in handcuffs during the game. At full time Beast players should have been right off the pitch. All these NED beast players did was make Police and stewarding more dangerous than it had to be. But that is what the beasts are about. NED players and scum support are like for like. Classless, selfish morons.

Disgusted to see thumb spitting on his and wiping it on our corner flag just after half time. Truly someone who needs a doing.

They behave like they do knowing they have such a huge backing. They stroll about like it’s a home game at times. Time to ban these filthy cunts from Ibrox for good.

Could not disagree more about Wes. He made a string of decent saves from the 1st minute onwards. Ok, he maybe should have stopped the 2nd but we could have already been well beaten by then.

Fair enough mate. He made a few good saves but that's what you expect from your keeper when your backs are against the wall for the whole game. He was under a lot of pressure while trying to spray the ball about and more often than not gave the ball to the opposition.

Far from his best game.

I admire all those who can analyse the game rather than make sweeping knee jerk reactions. Personally, I have to watch Orange demonstrations and British victories to finally realise that we may lose the battle, but we've already won the war! We may have lost, but jezzo we've won everything before

Disappointed. We didn't really look like scoring before they did. I wasn't convinced about the penalty incident at the time but on review I think it probably was. Not surprised the ref didn't give it.

Not sure what to think now. We have to grt behind Pedro as there is no other option on the table. However I think hos job will be to consolidate before we get in the man we need to make the big push.
