Brings back memories, one of my first midweek games.

I love this place it's like an online Rangers museum for free.

Sorry I could only like the OP once.
 
That was a strong Everton side.
Alan Ball played at Ibrox several times.
With Everton,Arsenal and Southampton.
He used to get some stick,but it never bothered him.A top player.

He was the bad guy to the Scotland support.

And back then, the Rangers support made up a big proportion of the Scotland support.
 
Ball was a tremendous player who, despite being hated by Scotland fans, was at the top of his profession. Reminded me as a more dynamic and skillfull version of doddie.
 
Was at both games, in the old Derry with my cousin and his mates. Vaguely remember being in the Ibrox House with them pre-match and I was only fourteen.
 
Allan Ball finished that season by scoring the only goal in a 1-0 England win v Scotland at Hampden in May '72.
Marvelous player.
