Rangers Vacancies

I am waiting for the day they have middle level finance positions available
I’d be amazed if that ever happens.

I used to audit 2 SPL clubs and the structure was pretty much:

Finance Director

Credit controller.
Finance admin.

In both cases that was it. Football clubs aren’t difficult to staff from a financial perspective. They don’t manufacture anything and the revenue is usually season tickets once a year and payments received from the sell off of the catering.

I’m sure Rangers have a financial controller. I could be wrong though.

Blackpool FC were advertising a Financial Controller role 3 months ago.

Salary: £30k.

Nearly laughed her off the phone.
The trouble with FC roles is that FC can mean such different things in different organisations. I have seen "Financial Controller" roles at over £100,000 and the same at under £30,000. The trouble is that anyone can call themselves a "financial controller". It's a title sometimes used by companies to make the incumbent feel important. Generally speaking the salary will tell you how important the role actually is.
