Official Rangers Women - Season 24-25

Rachel Rowe has signed for Southampton in the Championship.
Allegedly she wanted to be closer to home (which I believe is Swansea) so she is. Still a long way from there to Southampton mind.

'Interesting' snippet - I've only just found out she used to be a Operational Support Guard at both Swansea and Cardiff prisons - and her Dad died of alcoholism when she was just 21.

Not going to lie, I googled it as I didn't think there would be much difference.

Turns out it's around half the travel time so my geography of that part of the UK is way off!

Very disappointing to see her go - league's POTY, so clearly going to be a huge miss.

Don't know much about their finances - will they be paying more than us?

Southampton are in the Championship I would imagine the salary will be very similar to Rangers . The average salary in the WSL is £47,000 but some players earn less than half of that amount.

New Season and a new thread. So here's my thoughts.
I realise that we can't have everything but I;d like a genuine No 1 goalkeeper.
Somehow we need an attacking midfielder to replace R Rowe.
Wouldn't even dream to second guess Jo but I think we'll revert to a back 4 with Nic and Rachel as wing backs. Our 2 new centre backs will play with Kathy,Tess and Eilidh as back up.
Expect Ini,Liv and Chelsea to be the mainstays in midfield and Jodi, Brogan.Mia or Lizzie to be 4th midfield player.
Rio and Kirsty are the logical front 2 with Jane and Sarah as back up although I know she's only 16 but I'd like to see Laura Berry not sent out on loan and integrated this season.
We got caught out last season with injuries to key players imo it cost us the title.Injuries in the women's game seem to be a regular occurrence and with CL matches as well utilising the squad will be really important.
As we have seen most of the squad are on 2 year deals except for Brogan(3) and Tess(1) but I worry about our loan players and the squad. Most of them are internationalists at various age groups and from what I've seen there are some good players amongst them.A pathway to the first eleven must be kept for them.
Any thoughts on what I've posted lads/lassies ?

6 hrs return SOTON to Swansea vs 14 hrs from Glasgow and back? Massive difference if you're going to see yer maw.

Lisa Martinez signs on for Saint Ettiene.

Would have liked her to stay but best of luck to her

Looks better in blue! But all the best to Big Lisa.

Likes of Bristol would have suited her better. Maybe even Reading or Birmingham. Obviously they’d have to want her in the first place but her ability, for me, suggests she could play for any team in that division.

I wish her well. Great wee player.

Rachel Rowe has signed for Southampton in the Championship.
She would be one, I would build a team around.
Massive loss.
Funnily enough she always reminded me of Steven Davis.

Great carrier of the ball, and can split a defence with one pass. Also packs a punch, and can tackle, and scores important goals.
Big, big, loss.
Good luck Rachel.
Thanks for the memories.

Quick brain-dump:

1. If signing Eddie and Rafferty means Big Tess never playing at CB again then we've done a good thing. Sick to the back teeth watching her, arms behind her back, while some gargoyle Do-si-do's around her and scores. Good midfielder, though, who can weigh a pass and reads the game well.

2. Ewans has to go. Plus the icon that is Jane Ross - unless she has a good preseason.

3. You're right about Laura Berry but she needs game time. Her M'well stint shows she can 'do it' in the SWPL so she needs at least 30 mins a game for us until the winter break.

4. Kayla Jardine and Mason Clarke - two other loan returnees - would be starters for all the other teams bar us and the gargoyles. You can see they are both good, brainy footballers. Built like skelfs, though.

5. I'd like us to sign Amy Muir from Glasgow City. Young, strong, tall(ish) and athletic. Great in a back three.

6. We need a 'marquee' No 10. A real goal-scoring playmaker. I know that's every team's wet dream but we can hope...

Who does Priscilla Chinchilla ( sp ? ) play for ?

She was brilliant for Glasgow city

Jane Ross is my daughter’s favourite player because her name is made up of mine and my Mrs first names, which she finds highly amusing.
I watched the first part of last season, and thought that combination Hardy and Howatt, was perfect!
Like watching the female version of McCoist and Hateley.
Each worked so well together, and complimented each other. Also we were steam rolling teams 8-9 zero. Some times higher.
Come second half of the season, and Howatt picks up that bad injury, and then Ross comes in, and plays more like Morelos. The lone striker role. Did Ross score that many in the end?
Hardy's form goes to crap, and most games she is coming off the bench. to try and make an impact.
We suddenly become like a blunt instrument up front, and our miss ratio goes off the charts.
