Ravel Morrison (Not Signing)

Noticed in the Derby match tonight that Morrison started and it seems that he’s now fairly regular in the 1st 11. Also he’s now a Jamaican international alongside Roofe. Any Derby watchers able to say how he’s doing? Might end up playing in a World Cup.

World Cup for wasters

Jamaica will not be making the world cup even though they are in one of the easiest qualifying routes in fact it’s just the easiest.

Derby turned up for preseason with like 6 players so think it was more a case of anyone will do

Incredible that, were it not for the points deduction, they would be sitting in 13th place when, as you say, they were decimated in pre season.

I saw Derby on Saturday & they were half decent to be fair albeit against a poor PNE side.

Morrison had a decent game but nothing outstanding.

I was more impressed with a couple of kids that they played.

Wonder if the penny has dropped for the lad the fact he’s playing in a poor derby side at this stage in his career. Be too late to reach the top end of the game but could probably still earn a decent living.

Was listening to the Undr the Cosh podcast with Stewart Downing yesterday, he played with Ravel at West Ham under big Sam.

He said that Ravel was outstanding for a couple of months for West Ham, on the verge of the England squad, just when it was all going well, he disappeared back to Manchester for 6 weeks, totally awol from the club, returning just after the festive period.

That was it for West Ham, he was loaned out to QPR the next week.

It close but I’d rather play Costa Rica and Canada instead of Japan and South Korea. Mexico are a decent side mind.

Japan and South Korea play in Asian qualifiers.

The “winner” of Oceania plays the team who come 5th in South American qualifying.

Jamaica came through the prelim round - against the Caribbean island essentially - so now face a tougher opposition in their qualifiers (Mexico, USA)

Former Man United players used to say that Ravel was genuinely world class, that he'd reach the very top.

Attitude and lifestyle majorly fucked it.

I suppose playing for Derby he will still have more money than he needs. (Unless he's an idiot and blows it)

Thats the problem the money kills young players ambition. Youth players making £1000s a week will feel like they've already made it

They have some decent players in their squad , probably have better attacking players than scotland do tbf

It's defensively and goalkeeping that is their issue.

If they can keep convincing these English lads to play for them, they could end up a half decent team. Especially if they find a few defensive players.
