Doesnt seem like 2 years since he went. Sadly missed.

Ray Wilkins (14th September 1956 - 4th April 2018)

I broke down and cried when I heard the news today
A legend of a man they said had died
I never will forget this gentleman called Ray
Who donned the Rangers shirt with grace and pride

Oh Razor such a friend to all so loyal and so true
The gap is huge and never shall be filled
We remember how you wept the last time you wore the blue
As you waved farewell to all the fans you'd thrilled

Aged Sixty-One the angels came and bore you up on high
It's heavens gain , earth is poorer for your loss
All who knew you here below could only mumble why
Too soon you had that one last river to cross

Rest Easy Ray 'Butch' Wilkins our hero and our friend
We loved you and you loved us in return
So please receive the thanks that the Rangers family send
In our hearts for you an eternal flame will always burn

Rest Easy Gentleman Ray

What a career Ray Wilkins had. He was a fabulous player for us. Just had a calmness about him that made it look so easy and effortless. He was genuinely gutted to leave us. Much missed indeed. RIP Ray.

Fine words Itsinthenet. Rest easy Ray.

With all the well wishes and high regard ex players and other players and people in general spoke about the man serves his character.

I’m glad he pulled on the jersey and played for the famous,a gentlemen,a pleasure and good human.

Thank you and missed.

Top class footballer, and as others have said, a proper gentleman.
I`ve been fortunate to have met him on a few occasions; and this was always the case each time.
Sadly missed.
RIP Ray.

RIP Ray, you where a total gentleman.
A man who openly admitted that throughout his illustrious career he was never happier than what he was when he was playing for Rangers.

I accidentally kicked him in the back from behind once. He turned round looking a bit stunned. Realising who it was I embarrassingly stumbled a “Sorry Ray” to which he replied “That’s all right fella”

Two years already. He certainly gave us some fantastic memories. What a player and a great representative of our Club. Priveleged to have sen him play for us.

Had the respect of every person he encountered did Ray Wilkins.

Happy memories of him turning out for our club Rangers. A player befitting of one of the great cornerstones of British football

I think it was a LC tie he played for hibs at Ibrox about 1996 ? and he got a standing ovation from the Bears when he was subbed off

Was taking to my sons about him last night and although they never got the pleasure of seeing him playing for us they are well schooled in the man and hold him in great regard, he was a perfect fit for our great institution.

Always remember his quote 'He's as versatile as an egg' about a player whom I can't recall but anytime a hear someone say this I think of the one and only Raymond Colin Wilkins, MBE.

Sadly I never had the pleasure of watching him on the pitch but I did have the pleasure of listening to him and Bomber during one of the 9IAR nights in the Louden in 2017.

Rest easy.
