I broke down and cried when I heard the news today
A legend of a man they said had died
I never will forget this gentleman called Ray
Who donned the Rangers shirt with grace and pride

Was taking to my sons about him last night and although they never got the pleasure of seeing him playing for us they are well schooled in the man and hold him in great regard, he was a perfect fit for our great institution.

Always remember his quote 'He's as versatile as an egg' about a player whom I can't recall but anytime a hear someone say this I think of the one and only Raymond Colin Wilkins, MBE.

Scoring goals like that against them is something every one of us dreamed of doing. Wilkins lived the dream. He was one of us.

He played for some fantastic Football clubs. Chelsea, Man Utd, AC Milan. Yet he always talked about his time at Rangers.

He loved it here and the feeling was mutual.

Sadly I never had the pleasure of watching him on the pitch but I did have the pleasure of listening to him and Bomber during one of the 9IAR nights in the Louden in 2017.
