RC Boats

We've recently relocated to quite a lake centric area and I was looking at getting a couple of Radio Controlled boats for me and the wee man.

It's a bit of a info landline to be honest out there, and quite difficult for the non educated to stay away from a 5 minutes when fully charged Chinese POS.

Any recommendations lads? Also, are they ok on a calm sea shore also?

Lots of them - inc sailing ship style ones on Knightswood Park pond. Their model boat club often has open days - so imagine there may be somewhere local to you where you can get advice from enthusiasts.

Not in Scotland anymore mate - and checked, nothing nearby without a good bit of travelling.
I was thinking, "What, 19th Century Terrorist boats now too?"

There is a model boat club in Strathaven Park. About half a dozen chaps sail there model boats there most weeks.

No idea how to contact them, but they are there quite regularly.
