Robbie Neilson: it was a red card but could the ref handle it differently? maybe

What gets me is the absolute lack of any member of the press with any sort of balls to ask him what he means.

He says it and it's forgot about.

The lack of professionalism right throughout the sport in the spfl is ridiculous from a manager saying that to it not being questioned.

We won't ever here just a straight forward yes it was a red card or pen for Rangers again. The media and opp player's and managers just can't bring themselves to say the truth.

It was a red but he could have handle it differently and just gave him a yellow for trying to snap his ankle.

Ok Robbie you thick c.unt.

What the fucking hell is this man tripping on about?

If it's a red card, by your own mouth, what's the alternative way to handle it, other than the red card he was shown?

Dimwitted tit.

Gave him the red card then kicked him in the balls would have been the only other way to handle it

Tbh when you listen to it all he's not saying anything wrong

Just trying keep balance between ripping the player apart publicly and not

He will be raging his reaction when it happened said it all he knew it was a red all day

He‘a right, he could have booked him earlier on when he dropped the ball on Matondo’s head, then he could have had the choice between the correct straight red, or just the second yellow.

We are now in the situation where managers are comfortable suggesting refs should have different rules in games against Rangers.
He's basically saying he should've been given the opportunity to sub him off because it's been done against us a few times already.
Laughable that this is being entertained by the media when you see what happened to us at easter road this season.

If this was a game against any other team, would be still suggest that the ref could have made a different choice for the red?

I doubt it.

Maybe he thinks he should have been given the opportunity to sub him off instead of being sent off. There is a precedent after all!
Is what he was wanting, these types of challenges need stamped out of Scottish football,

Strange thing to say when he appeared to have no issue with the red at the time it happened. Listening to the interview he still thinks its a red but then pours doubt on it anyway. He had the very definition of a homer refereeing the game yesterday. If he'd handled the game differently (and that meant just doing his job properly) then it would have been 5-0, at least. They got off lightly yesterday.

It's a red card, but it was against Rangers so the ref usually just lets it go.

No wonder Neilson is asking the question.

That’s what I get from it.

“Clear red card in any game of football from Sunday League to WC Final but this was vs Rangers in Scotland so…”
