Rolls Royce Club

Just looking at the photo, he still wears a collar and tie to the game. Standards never leave you.

He’s a player from my old man’s time that I wish I had seen.

I was there yesterday as I didn’t get into Club72. Not bad Club. Enjoyed myself. That Italian lager they sell is really nice

Two assists in the final was a very classy player.
2 aimless punts up the park from a route 1 specialist, as he is frequently reminded of on our bus ;)

I also have a copy of that and it shows the class of Der Kaiser that he signed a few of them and Dave Smith has one with a personal message.

On a related note, Nuremberg were hosting Bayern and Gerry Neef met up with Maier, Beckenbauer, Breitner & Muller to watch us v the scum in the early kick off. They insisted on watching the full game and were either late or just in their seats for kick off in their own game. Gerry called and said all 5 were delighted with Kevin Thomson's goal and the Rangers win. He was also laughing about being the odd one out in the group, something about world cup winners medals :))

Rest in peace Gerry Neef, another who absolutely took our club to his heart.

Bumped into his daughter in Bucharest for the Unirea game...his love of the Gers has clearly been passed down.

Before my time as a player but whenever I watch the ECWC Final you hear a fan shouting “m’on Dave Smith” just before he sets up Colin Stein’s goal.

Dave Smith - one of the most underrated Rangers players ever.
Not by those who saw him play, mate.

someone said he ran the show in Barcelona. It wasn’t just Barcelona, our entire campaign was build around the big man.

Seen him in RR plenty times before games always shirt & tie, old school and a gentleman always time to speak with any fans.

Willie johnstons' first then you hear the next shout "OOOHHH ITS THERE"...as Smith crosses it, brilliant stuff.

Dave replaced my all time hero--Slim Jim--and was a more than adequate replacement applying his own skills to a position which has had many great players over the years.:)):)):))

remember when he came at first and we played him midfield and he didn't stand out, but when moved to sweeper role...jesus, the closest scottish player to beckenbauer, baresi, krol etc ever...... magnificent
