Fucking hell, that's horrific! Hope the lad pulls through - wouldn't have thought the survival rate would be very high?

Can remember John White the spurs player being killed on the golf course after being struck by lighting back in 63 I think
A thunderstorm began while he was playing golf in Middlesex. He took cover below a tree from the rain when he was struck by lightning. He was 27. A very talented player for Spurs and a Scottish Internationalist, he left behind a 22 year old wife and 2 daughters.

The timing of that makes It look ike he booted an explosive, unbelievable. Good to hear he is recovering. Some amazing stories of people developing incredible talents after lightning strikes such a as master mathematicians and musicians when they had no prior ability.

Seriously? A 16 year old kid is on LIFE SUPPORT and we’re making jokes??

Imagine that was one of our players and we found another club’s fans making comments like this. We would (quite rightly) be calling them all sorts.

Hope the boy makes a full and speedy recovery.
There was a thread a while back about some poor woman who died after being hit by lightning. Some people, incredibly, found this funny. In fact, some of the "jokes" are the same. No doubt the same posters will be the first to get all enraged with the mildest bit of banter at the football.

Wow, what a freak accident. Great to hear positive news on his recovery coming from Russia, just hope there's no long lasting effects and he can get back on the pitch sooner rather than later.

Perhaps he will get a move to replace Ter Stegen next year then.
