Sands & Kamara unfair criticism for last night

That's a bit unfair mate.

Brown never bossed the game, but he'd Ferguson alongside him and Hedges and Ojo playing narrow too, so it was basically 4 against 2, when they had possession.
Unfortunately, Hagi is an absolute passenger in comparison to Aribo, when the opposition have the ball.

Don't really know how Kamara and Sands can be blamed for Hayes having a good game, as he was playing left back.
That would be more an issue for Scott Wright.

Unfortunately, the fact we were missing 4 top international midfielders all at the same time came back to bite us, as it would for any team.

A Rangers midfield 3 of Kamara, Arfield and Aribo ahead of them, would've dominated the game for us.
Accept my wording is perhaps a bit out but mean our poor performance made both Brown and Hayes look better than they are.
Hagi did himself no favours with a stupid booking early on which blunted his contribution.

People keep blaming them for the midfield being poor last night - imo they were hung out to dry by the system. When you go with those two sitting in front of the back 4 and then instruct Wright & Kent to hug the touchline, and Hagi to get beyond the striker I'm not sure how you can ever expect your midfield to control the game. Aberdeen were getting bodies in there, outnumbering them and giving them no options to play to. Don't believe it was GVB's intent to have them control the game in the first place. They were there to protect the back 4 and screen our defence (which they did well considering we didn't give up many chances), while we look to go long into our forward players.

A look back at Sands highlights from last night and you can see he is a good player imo. Last night was the wrong movie for him:

Sands had a solid debut, especially first half. Kamara had a quieter game. We set up to not concede and hit on the break, score, then hold onto the lead. With so many players out it was the correct call and very nearly worked.

Clancy needs factored in here. You could say the midfield battle was lost 2nd half, but if the ref only blows for tackles on them and ignores assaults on our guys then i am unsure what we can do.

Its sods law, we make the more defensive midfield change to really galvanise and protect the lead, but give away a daft penalty a minute later. You could sense Gio's frustration.

Arfield, Aribo are big losses. Hagi did ok till he ran out of steam.

With Jack, Davis and Arfield back in training we will be much stronger next week. Keeping fingers crossed that Nigeria go out.

Celtic are still pish. They will really creak soon. Forrest is injury prone, Turdbull out - also injury prone, Rogic never plays a full season, Jota is another who looks like he has glass legs, The 3 Japanese players, Adaba and Starfelt have played football since last Feb. By April they will be burned out. Kyogo cant have much meat left on that bone, doubt we will see him play again till 22/23.

4 clear. In Celtic's next 9 games they visit Hearts, Motherwell, Livingston, Aberdeen, Hibs and us. They also have us at home. Our hardest game over same period is a visit to the piggery.

We will be fine. Trust Gio
