Saturday Football

What has happened to Allison this season.

I thought it was due to the porno tash but he seems to have shaved it off so I don’t know what to blame it on.

Brechin City 0-2 Albion Rovers

Brechin City pull one back

Now 1-2

I was reading today that the SPFL are unable to give vital Brora/Kelty play-off dates.

A few reasons given but the worrying line was that the pyramid play-offs will only be confirmed if Brora and Kelty "meet the SPFL's membership criteria" at a meeting on 19th April.

Meanwhile it has also been revealed Ken ferguson of the SPFL's bottom side Brechin City has stepped down from the league governing body's board.

You'd be excused for thinking he is doing this so he can't be accused of conflict of interest again when Brechin are inexplicably 'saved' once again. Is a stitch up on the cards?

Another ridiculous VAR offside like the one in the Wolves game yesterday. If it's that close that you need to break out the video game to measure it then let it stand.

See forgetting about the rights and wrongs of VAR itself, how the hell can the rules say that if Cash touches the ball it’s on and if he doesn’t it’s off.

The defender has to defend, the decision of offside or not should have nothing to do with the defender trying to block out the pass.

start of a new phase with the ball coming from a defender so offside is not applicable

bizarrest part was Carragher thinking that no matter if Cash touched it, him trying to touch it made Jota onside
paid for that pish

If it comes off the defender then the player is onside, think that’s been a rule for a couple of years now.

Becomes a new phase of play.

When the lines need pulled out to decide then it’s gone too far. Should be for clear mistakes that’s obvious to the eye
This is the obvious solution that for some reason is not being considered. If they want to get specific then say if the gap is <5cm then the on field decision stands.

I didn’t understand that either.

If a guy is miles offside and the ball through takes a nick off the defender it’s surely still offside regardless?

I think you know the answer, simply putting some distance between himself and the inevitable decision (that’s probably already been made).

As for the liverpool game, get VAR straight in the bin, if you can’t tell with the naked eye within about 30secs give the advantage to the attacker, it’s supposed to be in the business of entertainment, this is anything but.

But the defender only tried to touch it because of Jota. Take Jota out that situation and he doesn't try to take that touch.

Something similar happened with Mings earlier in the season, where he only played the ball because of the offside player.

Goal stood.

I’m not watching the game by the way, was only trying to answer the posters question but I obviously didn’t have the proper context :))
